90° Elbow with One Push-Fit End IVAR.IVN421 – Stainless Steel AISI 304, 42 mm
Code: IVN421.42Product detailed description
The IVAR.IVN421 elbow in size 42 mm changes the direction of stainless steel pipe by 90°. It has a crimping collar for the pipe on one side and a plug-in end of the same diameter on the other, which is inserted into the crimping collar of another fitting – the elbow can thus be mounted directly after the fitting without the need for a pipe stub. The diameter remains unchanged, the material is stainless steel AISI 304 (1.4301), and the collar is sealed with an EPDM O-ring.
For which systems
- closed heating and cooling circuits
- solar systems
- compressed air and vacuum systems
- inert and technical gases
- technical and operational liquids, industrial applications
- sewage and rainwater
Not suitable for potable water systems.
Crimping for size 42 mm
For a diameter of 42 mm, chain pliers with profile M (at least 3 segments) and a suitable adapter are used. An orange stripe on the fitting indicates a joint that has not yet been crimped, and the LBP (Leak Before Press) O-ring releases liquid during pressure testing until the fitting is crimped – an uncrimped joint is thus immediately visible.
Cut the pipe perpendicularly to the axis, deburr the inside and outside, and mark the insertion depth with a marker. During installation, follow the manufacturer's installation instructions and flush the entire system before putting it into operation.
Operating parameters
Pressure up to PN 16, vacuum down to -0.8 bar (absolute pressure 0.2 bar), temperature -20 °C to +120 °C, antifreeze mixture concentration up to 50 %. Dimensions according to technical drawing: L 87 mm, H 97 mm, Z 55 mm.
If you need an elbow with a crimping collar on both sides, choose the type IVAR.IVN420 of the same size.

Frequently asked questions
What is the plug-in end of the IVAR.IVN421 elbow used for?
The plug-in end has the same diameter as the pipe, 42 mm, so it is inserted directly into the crimping collar of another fitting of the same size and crimped together with it. A pipe stub is not needed.
Can the IVAR.IVN421 elbow be used for potable water?
No. According to the manufacturer, fittings made of stainless steel AISI 304 are not suitable for potable water. They are intended for closed heating and cooling circuits, solar systems, compressed air, technical gases and liquids.
Which crimping pliers do I need for size 42 mm?
Pliers with profile M; for diameters from 42 mm, chain pliers with at least three segments and a suitable adapter are required.
How do I recognize an uncrimped joint for size 42 mm?
The fitting has an orange crimping indicator and an LBP O-ring, which releases liquid during pressure testing until the joint is crimped.

IVAR designs, develops and manufactures highly energy-efficient heating and plumbing systems. We have over 10,000 catalogue items - mass-produced products and unique items - in addition to customised systems and combinations of complex products. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Vision
To make life easier for our clients, our clients' customers and our employees, thanks to our ability to be constantly innovative.
Mission
To design and manufacture advanced hydronic solutions that reduce installation complexity and energy consumption.
“Made in Italy” adds value
IVAR has been producing heating and plumbing system components since 1985: valves for heating bodies, direct heat metering modules, heat cost allocators, pipes and fittings, substations for heating systems, distribution manifolds, radiant panel systems, and components for solar and geothermal systems. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Over 200 people are employed at our manufacturing facilities in Prevalle (in northern Italy’s Brescia province). The site has been designed to streamline our many production and operational stages.
The Italian headquarters also acts as a hub for the wider IVAR Group, set up with the goal of distributing products beyond Italy’s borders. The group now has 11 branches, in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Tunisia.
Know How
Research, development and numerous laboratory tests guarantee that our clients’ requests can be translated into new high-efficiency products.
The stages required for production take place internally, beginning with hot forming, which is carried out at our subsidiary Valmon Stampati. Our continuous implementation of projects under the Industry 4.0 initiative also allows us to take full advantage of new releases in technology and IT to improve our manufacturing efficiency.
As a company, IVAR is constantly evolving. Every day, we invest in strengthening our products, in improving our production processes and in attaining new patents and certifications.
