A ground-source heat pump extracts heat from a horizontal ground collector installed beneath the ground, or from vertical geothermal boreholes — in both cases, the temperature of the source remains much more stable throughout the year than air temperature, which results in higher and more consistent efficiency during the entire heating season.
Common questions
- Collector or borehole — which is better? A horizontal collector is cheaper, but it requires a sufficiently large plot of land without any construction above it. A borehole is more expensive to implement, but it occupies minimal space and provides more stable performance — suitable for smaller plots.
