Vaillant flexoTHERM exclusive VWF 117/4 is a more powerful member of the same premium range of ground/water heat pumps of the fourth generation as the model VWF 87/4, this time in the power class of approximately 11 kW at point B0/W35. It is intended for larger family homes or buildings with higher heat loss, yet it retains the same compact design — the entire unit including the compressor, circulation pumps and electronics is hidden in one white lacquered cabinet installed inside the building, without an outdoor unit. The set includes the passive cooling module VWZ NC 11, the touch controller sensoCOMFORT 720 and the internet gateway VR 940f, making it a complete solution for heating, hot water preparation, summer cooling and remote control via a mobile app.

Passive cooling module VWZ NC 11
Just like with the smaller sibling VWF 87/4, the VWZ NC 11 module (for the power range 5 - 11 kW) also allows to draw cooling directly from the ground or groundwater in summer without running the compressor. Cold brine is fed directly into the heating circuit via a plate heat exchanger, so electricity is consumed only for the circulation pumps — the efficiency of cooling is therefore significantly higher than with conventional air conditioning. It works best with floor or wall heating, or with cooling convectors, and the sensoCOMFORT controller automatically monitors the dew point to prevent condensation.
Controller sensoCOMFORT VRC 720 and internet gateway VR 940f
The central touch controller sensoCOMFORT 720 controls the heating circuits, hot water preparation and cooling from one place, with an equithermal regulation according to the outside temperature, weekly programs and a vacation mode. The internet gateway VR 940f connects the system to the home WiFi and makes control and monitoring available via the myVAILLANT app from any location — including consumption history, remote temperature changes and alerts in case of faults, which also facilitates remote diagnostics for service technicians.
Installation and notes
VWF 117/4 is installed exclusively inside the building (technical room, boiler room), with only the ground collector or borehole piping leading outside. Due to the higher power, it is advisable to have an energy calculation of heat losses and a design of the ground source (length of the borehole or area of the collector) prepared by a professional designer before purchase. Connection requires a three-phase electrical connection and installation by a qualified heating technician. Due to its weight and dimensions, the product is delivered as oversized goods by pallet transport and payment is handled exclusively by advance transfer.
