Solar systems are used to harness solar energy for heating a dwelling or preparing hot water. Their basic components are a collector, a pump group, a tank for storing solar energy, and a controller. In the individual subcategories you will find both complete solar kits containing most of the components needed for a solar system application, and individual components - collectors (framed, flat-plate) from the Greek manufacturer CALPAK, pump groups from the German manufacturer PAW with SOREL controllers, and accessories.

The pump group is a basic element of a solar system that ensures circulation of the heat-transfer fluid and, depending on its technical equipment, also enables further add-on functions - some pump groups also include a controller. Individual products differ in equipment and output. Solar pump groups from the German manufacturer PAW are known for their reliability and build quality.

  • What do I need for a complete solar system? A solar collector, a pump unit with control, an expansion vessel designed for solar use, a tank for heat storage, and connecting pipework with insulation and temperature sensors.
  • What is the difference between a single-pipe and a twin-pipe pump unit? A twin-pipe unit has separate branches for the flow and return, including accessories (valves, thermometers) in both branches; a single-pipe unit is a simpler and cheaper solution with more limited control.
  • Why does the solar circuit need a special expansion vessel? The solar circuit reaches higher temperatures and pressures than ordinary heating, so the vessel must have a membrane and material design resistant to the high temperatures of the heat-transfer fluid.
  • Can the system be extended with more collectors later? Yes, when designing the mounting modules and the pump unit you should allow for a reserve in output and flow rate; extending the frame with another collector is normally handled with an installation kit.
