Heat pump Vaillant flexoCOMPACT exclusive VWF 118/4

Vaillant flexoCOMPACT exclusive VWF 118/4 is the most powerful model in the flexoCOMPACT exclusive series – a ground/water (brine/water) heat pump with an integrated stainless steel hot water storage tank of approx. 185 liters in one cabinet. The compressor, heat exchanger, hydraulics and hot water tank are all together in one cabinet with dimensions 1868 × 595 × 720 mm, which takes up approx. 0.35 m² on the floor. The entire device is installed indoors, only the non-freezing brine circuit leads outside to the ground collector or geothermal borehole.

The VWF 118/4 model is intended for larger family homes or houses with higher heat loss, where you still want to benefit from the compact solution "pump + tank in one cabinet", but need a higher performance than with the 58/4 or 88/4 models.

Why the compact "2 in 1" solution

Combining a powerful heat pump and a large hot water tank in one cabinet saves space in the technical room even in a larger house, where a separate tank with a comparable volume would otherwise take up an additional square meter. The shorter connecting pipe between the pump and the tank means lower heat losses and faster, simpler installation.

The equithermal controller sensoCOMFORT (series VRC 720) is part of the delivery and manages performance regulation according to outside temperature, heating and hot water time programs and communication with other components via the eBUS bus (e.g. mixing module when combining radiators and underfloor heating). The internet gateway VR 940f connects the system to the home WiFi and the free myVAILLANT app, through which it is possible to change temperatures, time programs and operating modes from a phone and receive notifications about possible faults.

Summer cooling

The VWF 118/4 model also has active cooling available as standard – in summer, the cooling circuit in reverse mode gently cools the interior via underfloor heating or fancoils, which is a pleasant bonus especially with a larger heated area.

Installation and heat source

For a performance of 11.18 kW, a typical solution is a geothermal borehole with a total depth of approx. 120 – 170 m (or a pair of shallower boreholes), or a sufficiently large ground collector on a larger plot of land. The exact dimensioning of the heat source must be based on the heat loss of the specific house and the geological assessment of the location.
