Vaillant flexoCOMPACT exclusive VWF 88/4 is a medium-performance member of the flexoCOMPACT exclusive range – a ground-source heat pump (brine/water) with an integrated stainless steel hot water tank with a volume of approx. 185 liters in one compact cabinet. Like its siblings VWF 58/4 and 118/4, the entire unit is installed indoors – the compressor, heat exchanger, hydraulics and hot water tank are all together in one cabinet with dimensions of 1868 × 595 × 720 mm, which takes up approx. 0.35 m² on the floor. Only the brine circuit leading to the ground collector or borehole runs outside the house.
The VWF 88/4 model is suitable for medium-sized family homes with standard heat loss, where the 58/4 model is no longer sufficient, but the full performance of the 118/4 model would be unnecessarily oversized.

Why the compact "2 in 1" solution
By combining the heat pump and hot water tank into one cabinet, you save space in the boiler room compared to a combination of a separate pump and upright tank, shorten the installation piping between the units and also reduce heat losses on the short connecting pipe. The tank with a volume of approx. 185 l easily covers the needs of a household with multiple bathrooms.

The package includes the equithermal controller sensoCOMFORT of the VRC 720 range, which controls the pump's performance according to the outside temperature, schedules heating and hot water preparation time programs and communicates with other components via the eBUS bus (e.g. mixing module for the second circuit). The internet gateway VR 940f connects the system to the home WiFi network and makes it accessible via the free myVAILLANT app – setting the temperature, time programs, operating modes (comfort, reduction, vacation) and alerts about possible faults are available directly on your mobile from anywhere.
Summer cooling
The flexoCOMPACT exclusive model has standard active cooling – in summer it can reverse the refrigeration cycle and gently cool the interior via underfloor heating or suitable fan coils, which brings pleasant comfort even during hot months without the need for separate air conditioning.
Installation and heat source
For a performance of 8.82 kW, a geothermal borehole with a depth of approx. 90 – 130 m (according to the geological assessment) or a sufficiently large ground collector is most often designed. An accurate design of the heat source must always be prepared by a professional company based on the actual heat loss of the house. Thanks to the absence of an outdoor unit and low noise, it is also suitable for buildings with stricter noise requirements towards neighbors. Commissioning is carried out exclusively by an authorized Vaillant service partner, which is a condition of warranty validity.

The ground-source flexoCOMPACT exclusive, on the other hand, maintains a stable performance and COP throughout the entire heating season, which translates into lower operating costs throughout the year.
