90° single-direction T-piece PRESS IVAR.IVN440 – stainless steel AISI 304, 54 mm
Code: IVN440.54Product detailed description
IVAR.IVN440 – 54 mm (code IVN440.54) is a one-sided, i.e. equilateral T-piece 90° made of stainless steel AISI 304 (1.4301). The run and the branch end with a press-on neck (PRESS × PRESS × PRESS) for a tube with an outer diameter of 54 mm, so you can branch off a perpendicular branch of the same dimension from the running pipe.
For which systems
- closed heating and cooling systems, solar circuits
- compressed air and vacuum systems
- inert and technical gases, technical and operational liquids
- industrial applications, waste and rainwater
This T-piece is not suitable for potable water. Its body is marked with the AISI 304 logo, dimensions, traceability code and a symbol indicating unsuitability for potable water.
Pressing for size 54 mm
For diameters from 42 to 108 mm, the manufacturer allows only chain jaws with profile M with at least three segments, usually with a transition adapter; pressing with standard single-piece jaws is not accepted. Profile V is prohibited at any diameter. For the size 54 mm, a pressing tool with medium force (up to 40 kN) is required, which according to the instructions presses diameters up to 54 mm. Inspection is facilitated by an orange stripe on the neck, which indicates an unpressed connection, and an O-ring LBP (Leak Before Press) with a broken profile – as long as the connection is not pressed, liquid leaks from it during pressure testing.
Cut the tube perpendicularly to the axis, deburr it inside and outside and moisten the O-ring with water at most, never with oil or grease. Insert it with a slight twist until it reaches the stop, mark the position with a marker and press the connection on the first attempt.
Technical data
- maximum operating pressure PN 16, vacuum down to -0.8 bar (absolute pressure 0.2 bar)
- operating temperature -20 °C to +85 °C, maximum +120 °C
- anti-freeze mixture with a concentration of up to 50 %
- material: stainless steel AISI 304 (1.4301), sealing O-ring EPDM
- dimensions according to the drawing: L 142 mm, L1 74 mm, Z 34 mm, Z1 37 mm, I 71 mm
For a smaller or threaded branch, T-pieces IVAR.IVN441 (reduced) and IVAR.IVN442 (with internal thread) are available in the same range. Before starting the heating system, flush the entire system – IVAR recommends GEL.LONG LIFE 100 for treatment.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use the IVAR.IVN440 T-piece for potable water distribution?
No. Fittings made of stainless steel AISI 304 in this range are not intended for potable water, as indicated by the symbol on their body. Use them in closed heating and cooling circuits, solar systems or for compressed air and technical gases.
Which pressing jaws do I need for size 54 mm?
Chain jaws with profile M with at least three segments, usually with a transition adapter. The manufacturer does not accept single-piece jaws for diameters from 42 mm and profile V is prohibited.
How can I tell that the connection is not yet pressed?
There is an orange indicator stripe on the neck and the LBP O-ring with a broken profile causes the unpressed connection to leak during pressure testing. An unpressed connection is thus immediately revealed.
Can a smaller branch be taken off from the IVAR.IVN440 54 mm T-piece?
No, it is a one-sided T-piece – all three necks have a diameter of 54 mm. For a smaller diameter branch, the reduced T-piece IVAR.IVN441 is available in the range.

IVAR designs, develops and manufactures highly energy-efficient heating and plumbing systems. We have over 10,000 catalogue items - mass-produced products and unique items - in addition to customised systems and combinations of complex products. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Vision
To make life easier for our clients, our clients' customers and our employees, thanks to our ability to be constantly innovative.
Mission
To design and manufacture advanced hydronic solutions that reduce installation complexity and energy consumption.
“Made in Italy” adds value
IVAR has been producing heating and plumbing system components since 1985: valves for heating bodies, direct heat metering modules, heat cost allocators, pipes and fittings, substations for heating systems, distribution manifolds, radiant panel systems, and components for solar and geothermal systems. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Over 200 people are employed at our manufacturing facilities in Prevalle (in northern Italy’s Brescia province). The site has been designed to streamline our many production and operational stages.
The Italian headquarters also acts as a hub for the wider IVAR Group, set up with the goal of distributing products beyond Italy’s borders. The group now has 11 branches, in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Tunisia.
Know How
Research, development and numerous laboratory tests guarantee that our clients’ requests can be translated into new high-efficiency products.
The stages required for production take place internally, beginning with hot forming, which is carried out at our subsidiary Valmon Stampati. Our continuous implementation of projects under the Industry 4.0 initiative also allows us to take full advantage of new releases in technology and IT to improve our manufacturing efficiency.
As a company, IVAR is constantly evolving. Every day, we invest in strengthening our products, in improving our production processes and in attaining new patents and certifications.
