Frequently Asked Questions

  • How can I check that the "Additional Ash Pan S1229" fits my exact appliance? The most reliable way is to compare the exact type/catalogue designation on your appliance's rating plate (boiler, tank, water heater) with the compatibility listed directly in this product's name (Atmos brand) and in its technical parameters above. If you are unsure, send us the exact type designation of your appliance (including the serial number, if available) - we will gladly verify compatibility for you.
  • Why is it important to use an original/compatible part rather than a universal replacement? Parts such as gaskets, sensors or safety components (safety valves, thermal fuses) are usually dimensioned precisely for the parameters of a specific appliance (pressure, temperature, sensor electrical resistance) - an incorrect part can cause reduced function, leaks, or in the case of safety components, a real safety risk.
  • Does this part have to be installed by a professional? For simpler, mechanical parts (e.g. gaskets, covers, small accessories not connected to electricity, gas or the pressure system) a handy DIY person can usually manage the replacement after disconnecting the appliance from power and the system. However, for any intervention in the gas, electrical or pressure part of the appliance (e.g. sensors directly in the combustion chamber, safety valves, electrical modules) we always recommend a service technician - especially since such an intervention could affect the validity of the warranty on the whole appliance.
  • How do I know this part is worn and needs replacing? Common signs include visible wear/cracking (for gaskets and rubber parts), water or flue gas leaks at the location of the part, an error message on the control display (for sensors and electronic modules), or an obviously reduced function of the appliance (e.g. irregular combustion for burner parts). If in doubt, the safest option is to have the condition assessed by a service technician during the regular annual inspection.
  • Is it worth keeping this part at home as a spare/service part? For parts that are subject to normal wear (gaskets, fuses, small mechanical parts) and whose failure would mean a heating or hot water outage, keeping a spare on hand is a sensible precaution - especially for an older appliance, for which the part may be harder to obtain quickly.

Company History

The family company ATMOS was founded in the Czech Republic in 1935. In the beginning, production was focused on gasifier power units for cars and boats under the brand name DOKOGEN, i.e. the same principle used in modern gasifier boilers for wood and coal.

Despite the German occupation and communist dictatorship, it was possible to maintain the development of wood boilers, gasifier units and compressors. In 1980, at the Pragotherm exhibition, the first wood gasifier boilers and wood waste boilers were presented. To date, 90 types of hot water boilers have been developed, for which the company holds 15 patents. One of the first developed boilers was the EKONOMIK boiler in 1968.

To ensure the European market with quality boilers that save the environment and energy, three generations of the Cankář family are currently working in the family business. The founder of the company, Jaroslav Cankář senior, passed away in March 2006 at the age of 94.
