ITEC E-STANDARD 12 (ITEC E-S 12) is an inverter heat pump from Thermia's IVAR.HP iTec E range for single-family homes and apartments – both new builds and renovated buildings with heat loss up to 19 kW. It consists of an external compact unit with a power of 3.4–12 kW and an internal unit in the STANDARD version. The compressor frequency inverter continuously adjusts the output to the current heat loss of the building.

Internal unit STANDARD

The STANDARD version includes only the control system with a display – a cabinet of 380 × 204 × 600 mm with a weight of 18 kg, power supply 230 V, circuit breaker 10 A. The circulation pump, switching valve, auxiliary heating, and hot water tank are not part of it and are resolved according to the project. It is mainly used in renovations where the original components remain in the system, or in new builds without hot water preparation by the heat pump.

Performance and efficiency

• SCOP 4.69 at 35 °C (floor heating) and 3.52 at 55 °C (radiators) for an average climate
• COP 4.53 at A7/W35, energy class A+++ at 35 °C and A++ at 55 °C

External unit

Dimensions 940 × 330 × 1420 mm (w × h × d), weight 111 kg, heating water connections 1" with external thread. Power supply 400 V 3~N 50 Hz, circuit breaker 10 A. Sound pressure level at a distance of 4 m is 47 dB(A), sound power 64 dB(A). The unit is mounted on a solid foundation and must not be placed in an enclosed space; condensate from defrosting is drained via a heated pipe, never into the sewer.

System design

• at least 240 l of heating water must be permanently available in the system for safe defrosting
• rated flow 16 l/min, pipe dimension at least 28 mm; flow sensor is part of the delivery
• control manages a direct and a mixing circuit, with an expansion card a second mixing circuit or pool heating
• cooperation with photovoltaics via Smart Grid (optional accessories), it is recommended to use the HPC software for dimensioning

Installation: Installation, electrical connections, and work on the refrigerant circuit with the slightly flammable refrigerant R32 may only be performed by qualified professionals.

What is included in the delivery?
External unit with condensate drain elbow, internal unit STANDARD, ball valve with filter, external temperature sensor, flow sensor, and documentation. Connection piping and flexible hoses are ordered separately as accessories.

Does the STANDARD version also prepare hot water?
The internal unit STANDARD includes only the control system, it does not have a circulation pump, switching valve, or tank – these components are added according to the project. If you want all hot water preparation components in one cabinet, choose the PLUS version (with a separate tank) or TOTAL.

Can the heat pump also cool?
Yes, the cooling function is included in the basic version, with a cooling capacity of 12 kW at A35/W18. Cooling circuits must be insulated with vapor-tight insulation to prevent condensation of moisture on them.

What maintenance does the heat pump require?
Check the pressure in the heating system monthly (0.8–1.5 bar), safety valves at least four times a year, and clean the dirt filter twice a year. Keep the external unit free of snow, ice, and leaves.
