45° Elbow IVAR.IVN422 – press x press, stainless steel AISI 304, 54 mm
Code: IVN422.54Product detailed description
The elbow IVAR.IVN422 – 54 mm from the IVAR system made of stainless steel AISI 304 (1.4301) has a compression socket with an EPDM O-ring on both ends. It connects two pipes with a diameter of 54 mm at an angle of 45°, the dimension remains unchanged. It can withstand a pressure up to PN 16 and a temperature from -20 °C to +120 °C.
Application
Closed heating and cooling circuits, solar systems, compressed air and vacuum lines, inert and technical gases, technical and operational liquids, industrial applications, waste and rainwater. The fitting is not suitable for potable water – this is also indicated by a symbol on its body.
Installation
Cut the pipe perpendicularly to the axis using a cutter or fine-toothed file (not a grinding wheel or flame), deburr it inside and outside, and insert it into the socket until it reaches the stop; mark the insertion depth with a marker. The 54 mm dimension is compressed using chain-type pliers with profile M (minimum 3 segments, usually with an adapter); the manufacturer does not accept single-piece pliers. The joint is compressed only once – repeated compression may damage the sealing.
The orange stripe breaks during compression, so an uncrimped joint is immediately visible. In addition, the LBP (Leak Before Press) O-ring will leak during a pressure test in an uncrimped joint.
Before putting the system into operation, flush the entire circuit and follow the manufacturer's installation instructions. If you need a push-fit end on one side, choose the type IVAR.IVN423 of the same dimension.

Frequently asked questions
Can the IVAR.IVN422 fitting be used for potable water?
No. The stainless steel system AISI 304 is not intended for potable water by the manufacturer, which is also indicated by a symbol on the fitting body. It is intended for heating, cooling, solar systems and technical media lines.
Which crimping pliers are needed for the 54 mm dimension?
Chain-type pliers with profile M and at least three segments, usually with an adapter. The manufacturer does not accept single-piece pliers for diameters from 42 to 108 mm.
How can I recognize a joint I forgot to crimp?
The orange stripe remains intact on an uncrimped fitting, which breaks during crimping. In addition, the LBP O-ring will leak during a pressure test in an uncrimped joint, so the error will be detected before the system is put into operation.
Can an antifreeze mixture be used in a circuit with this elbow?
Yes, the manufacturer allows an antifreeze mixture with a maximum concentration of 50 %. The operating temperature range is -20 °C to +120 °C.

IVAR designs, develops and manufactures highly energy-efficient heating and plumbing systems. We have over 10,000 catalogue items - mass-produced products and unique items - in addition to customised systems and combinations of complex products. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Vision
To make life easier for our clients, our clients' customers and our employees, thanks to our ability to be constantly innovative.
Mission
To design and manufacture advanced hydronic solutions that reduce installation complexity and energy consumption.
“Made in Italy” adds value
IVAR has been producing heating and plumbing system components since 1985: valves for heating bodies, direct heat metering modules, heat cost allocators, pipes and fittings, substations for heating systems, distribution manifolds, radiant panel systems, and components for solar and geothermal systems. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Over 200 people are employed at our manufacturing facilities in Prevalle (in northern Italy’s Brescia province). The site has been designed to streamline our many production and operational stages.
The Italian headquarters also acts as a hub for the wider IVAR Group, set up with the goal of distributing products beyond Italy’s borders. The group now has 11 branches, in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Tunisia.
Know How
Research, development and numerous laboratory tests guarantee that our clients’ requests can be translated into new high-efficiency products.
The stages required for production take place internally, beginning with hot forming, which is carried out at our subsidiary Valmon Stampati. Our continuous implementation of projects under the Industry 4.0 initiative also allows us to take full advantage of new releases in technology and IT to improve our manufacturing efficiency.
As a company, IVAR is constantly evolving. Every day, we invest in strengthening our products, in improving our production processes and in attaining new patents and certifications.
