Product detailed description

ATMOS Small Door Sibral Insulation – Thin, 32 mm Thick

Code S0251 denotes the thin Sibral insulation (filling) for the small doors of ATMOS boilers. It belongs to the group of door spare parts. It is intended for boilers with a ceramic spherical chamber, in which the door is complemented by a ceramic shield. The exceptions are the DC105S and DC150S boilers.

Use on the lower doors

  • C series: CxxS, CxxST
  • AC series: ACxxS
  • KC series: KCxxS
  • DC series: DC18S (spherical chamber version), DC100, DCxxR, DCxxRS, DCxxGS, DCxxGSE, DCxxGD, DCxxGSX
  • GS series: GSxx, GSXxx

Use on the middle doors of three-chamber boilers

  • DCxxSP(L), DCxxSPX(L), DCxxGSP(L)
  • CxxSP(L)
  • ACxxSP(L)
  • KCxxSP(L)

Upper doors of coal boilers

The insulation can also be fitted into the upper doors of CxxS and CxxST boilers. Here the screws are held only by the Sibral without a ceramic shield, so they need to be shortened to M6x35.

Related parts

When replacing the Sibral filling, it is likely that the sealing rope running in a separate groove around it will also need to be replaced. This is part S0241 (18x18 sealing rope for small doors). On these boilers, the ceramic door shield – the DC0021 crescent – also sits on the insulation. When the door is closed, it fits into the spherical chamber and seals it off.

Before ordering, please check the type of your boiler against the list above.

Frequently asked questions

  • How do I choose the right output for a solid fuel boiler? Start from the calculated heat loss of the building being heated, but with wood/coal boilers also bear in mind that during one loading the boiler burns for several hours at an essentially constant output - which is why it is common practice to add a buffer tank, which stores the surplus heat for later use instead of the boiler having to be throttled down inefficiently.
  • What else do I need to install this boiler? Besides the boiler itself, the system usually requires: a buffer (accumulation) tank of suitable volume, a circulation pump (often already with a built-in Laddomat or a thermostatic valve protecting the boiler against low-temperature corrosion), a safety valve, an expansion vessel and a flue/chimney with sufficient draught matching the boiler output - you will find the exact chimney draught values in the technical parameters above.
  • Which fuel is suitable and which is not? Use only the fuel recommended by the manufacturer for the given model (usually split logs of a defined length and moisture content, or brown coal briquettes or coal, depending on the boiler type) - unsuitable or too moist fuel reduces efficiency, increases the formation of tar and deposits and may damage the boiler.
  • What about chimney inspection and legislation? Before the boiler is put into operation, and also regularly during its use (usually once a year for solid fuels), an inspection/cleaning of the chimney by an authorised chimney sweep is required by law - without the relevant inspection certificate, even an insurance claim in the event of a fire may be disputed.
  • How much maintenance does the boiler require? It usually includes regular removal of ash and cleaning of soot from the heating surfaces/flue gas passages (the interval depends on intensity of use, usually in the order of weeks), and a thorough inspection once a year, including the seals and the chimney.
  • Can I install the boiler myself? The siting of the boiler and its connection to the heating system, the chimney and the safety devices should be carried out, or at least professionally checked, by a heating technician - it is an appliance with an open fire, high temperatures and pressurised components, where an error in connection can pose a safety risk.

Company History

The family company ATMOS was founded in the Czech Republic in 1935. In the beginning, production was focused on gasifier power units for cars and boats under the brand name DOKOGEN, i.e. the same principle used in modern gasifier boilers for wood and coal.

Despite the German occupation and communist dictatorship, it was possible to maintain the development of wood boilers, gasifier units and compressors. In 1980, at the Pragotherm exhibition, the first wood gasifier boilers and wood waste boilers were presented. To date, 90 types of hot water boilers have been developed, for which the company holds 15 patents. One of the first developed boilers was the EKONOMIK boiler in 1968.

To ensure the European market with quality boilers that save the environment and energy, three generations of the Cankář family are currently working in the family business. The founder of the company, Jaroslav Cankář senior, passed away in March 2006 at the age of 94.

Company ATMOS – present

The product range includes solid fuel boilers, gasification boilers for wood from 15 to 150 kW, gasification boilers for brown coal (and wood) from 16 to 48 kW, gasification boiler for brown coal briquettes and black coal with a power of 16 and 26 kW, automatic pellet boilers from 4.5 to 80 kW and combined boilers for gasification of wood in combination with a pellet burner in power from 20 to 35 kW. Products of the company Atmos have aroused great interest among users heating with wood and installers, due to their good functionality, quality and, last but not least, very favorable price.
