PNI CT28 Pro 4 is a WiFi automation kit for floor heating. The price includes 4 control units and an internet gateway. The entire system can then be controlled via the Tuya Smart mobile app. The PNI CT28WIFI gateway is intended for the PNI CT28 control module with 8 zones of floor heating.

The system consists of three types of devices that work closely together: thermostat CT28 PRO, control module CT28M and internet gateway CT28WIFI. The thermostat can operate locally without internet, but through the gateway it is fully accessible online.

Gateway CT28WIFI

The gateway connects the thermostat CT28 PRO with the control module CT28M and allows you to manage the entire system via the Tuya Smart app. It provides WiFi connection to the local network and transfers commands from the app to the radio modules. When using it, first add it to the Tuya Smart app and then connect the thermostat CT28 PRO as a secondary device (subdevice).

In the app you will see the set and measured temperature, you can change the heating status, switch between operating modes Manual, Eco and Scheduled and open advanced settings, such as frost protection, child lock, open window detection, temperature calibration or hysteresis.

How the devices work together

CT28 PRO displays the temperature and allows daily programming with 4 periods per day and switching between Manual, Eco and Scheduled modes. You can control it locally or via the app after pairing with the WiFi gateway. It supports frost protection, keypad lock (child lock), open window detection and temperature calibration.

CT28M is a control module (receiver) that activates pumps or solenoid valves in up to 8 zones. The thermostat CT28 PRO communicates with it wirelessly and sends commands to turn heating zones on or off. CT28WIFI connects the entire system to the internet and translates between WiFi and the 868 MHz radio signal, so you can control both devices from your phone.

Usage and pairing

The system is intended for floor heating with multiple zones. Pairing the thermostat with the CT28M module takes place via a dedicated RF protocol: a zone is selected in the module, pairing is activated on the thermostat and on the CT28M module and the command is recognized by the LED of the zone lighting up. This creates a system in which CT28M distributes heat between multiple zones and the thermostat remains functional locally.
