Backflow Preventer DISCONNECTOR BRA.ECO 3T – 2", L = 428 mm, Threaded – Special Offer
Code: ECO3T200Product detailed description
How the disconnector works
BRA.ECO 3T is a threaded check valve with an adjustable low-pressure zone. The body contains two spring-loaded check valves and a central chamber with a safety discharge valve in between. During normal flow, the pressure in the central chamber is at least 140 mbar lower than at the inlet and the discharge valve remains closed. If the inlet pressure drops (e.g., in case of a supply failure) or the pressure in the consumer network rises above the public network pressure, the valve opens, drains the central chamber into the sewer, and separates the two networks.
The device protects against liquids up to category 4 according to STN EN 1717, for example when connecting boilers, washing machines, industrial facilities, laboratories, or fire-fighting equipment. For category 5 (microbiological and viral risk), an air gap must be used. Although the nominal pressure is PN 10 according to STN EN 12729, the manufacturer also approves its use in fire-fighting networks with operating pressures up to 12 bar.
Construction
- body and upper cover made of bronze CuSn5Zn5Pb2
- seals made of EPDM
- test ports with mini-valves for pressure measurement before the device and in the central chamber; functional testing is enabled by the ECO3 TEST device
- removable cover for easy maintenance
- threaded connection 2" according to ISO 228/1, construction length 428 mm, weight 13 kg, Kv 38.6 m³/h
Installation
The disconnector is mounted horizontally with the discharge valve pointing downward, in an accessible, ventilated location protected from freezing and flooding. A shut-off valve and a filter with a drain plug should be installed before it – the device does not function properly without a filter – and a second shut-off valve after it. The discharge valve must be connected to the sewer via a waste trap, which is part of the product, and the water must drain by gravity. Installation should be carried out by a qualified professional.

Frequently asked questions
Why must a filter be installed before the disconnector?
The manufacturer indicates that the filter is a necessary condition for proper function – otherwise, dirt and pipe residues could cause malfunctions. It is installed between the inlet shut-off valve and the disconnector and must have a drain plug.
Must the disconnector be connected to the sewer?
Yes. In case of reverse flow, the central chamber is drained through the safety discharge valve, so it must be connected to the waste via a waste trap, which is part of the product; the water must drain by gravity.
Is it suitable for all liquid categories?
No, it protects against liquids up to category 4 according to STN EN 1717. For category 5, i.e., liquids with microbiological or viral risk, an air gap is required.
How is the functionality of the disconnector checked?
Through the test ports with mini-valves, the pressure before the device and in the central chamber is measured, for example with the ECO3 TEST device. The pressure gauge must be at the same height as the device during the test.

IVAR designs, develops and manufactures highly energy-efficient heating and plumbing systems. We have over 10,000 catalogue items - mass-produced products and unique items - in addition to customised systems and combinations of complex products. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Vision
To make life easier for our clients, our clients' customers and our employees, thanks to our ability to be constantly innovative.
Mission
To design and manufacture advanced hydronic solutions that reduce installation complexity and energy consumption.
“Made in Italy” adds value
IVAR has been producing heating and plumbing system components since 1985: valves for heating bodies, direct heat metering modules, heat cost allocators, pipes and fittings, substations for heating systems, distribution manifolds, radiant panel systems, and components for solar and geothermal systems. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Over 200 people are employed at our manufacturing facilities in Prevalle (in northern Italy’s Brescia province). The site has been designed to streamline our many production and operational stages.
The Italian headquarters also acts as a hub for the wider IVAR Group, set up with the goal of distributing products beyond Italy’s borders. The group now has 11 branches, in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Tunisia.
Know How
Research, development and numerous laboratory tests guarantee that our clients’ requests can be translated into new high-efficiency products.
The stages required for production take place internally, beginning with hot forming, which is carried out at our subsidiary Valmon Stampati. Our continuous implementation of projects under the Industry 4.0 initiative also allows us to take full advantage of new releases in technology and IT to improve our manufacturing efficiency.
As a company, IVAR is constantly evolving. Every day, we invest in strengthening our products, in improving our production processes and in attaining new patents and certifications.
