History
1731 - It all began with a high coal-fired furnace - in it, Johann Wilhelm Buderus I. produced cast iron, among other things, oven plates.
1835 - J.W. Buderus's company already had five foundries and produced stoves, which already meant comfortable heat at that time. Since then, Buderus has been setting trends in heating.
1881 - In the 19th century, Buderus gained an excellent reputation with its stoker stoves. These stoves were considered the most reliable and most efficient stoves on the market.
1898 - The first sectioned cast iron boilers were patented and the production of the first cast iron heating bodies (radiators) could be started.
1915 - Buderus attracted attention and admiration with the first large oil-fired boilers and in 1930 it was the first to produce a special oil-fired boiler.
1950 - Since the beginning of the 1950s, Buderus has also been producing steel boilers.
1958 - Due to the need for customer comfort, Buderus brought a new type of boiler, the Loganatherm, to the market. It was a combination of a cast iron boiler with an integrated hot water storage tank.
1962 - Buderus introduced the first wall-mounted heating body - Buderus Juno Heizblock, which was a revolution in heating at that time.
1977 - Buderus responded to the first oil crisis with low-temperature heating systems Ecomatic, which needed up to 15% less energy.
1981 - With the acquisition of the Dutch group Nefit, Buderus became a European market leader with even more efficient condensing technology.
1998 - 100 years after the ironworks Hirzenheim and Lollar received the first patent for the newly created sectioned boiler, the five-millionth cast iron boiler was produced in Lollar.
2002 - Since the beginning of solar technology, the Buderus brand has become a specialist in the integration of renewable energy in heating.
2003 - This year marked the transition from oil heating to compact, extremely quiet wall-mounted constructions in low-temperature and condensing versions.
2004 - At the annual general meeting of the Buderus company on May 13, it was decided to merge the activities in the field of heating technology of Robert Bosch GmbH and Buderus. The company BBT Thermotechnik GmbH is entered in the commercial register on August 2.
2005 - Buderus introduced the gas condensing boiler Logamax plus GB162s with a power of up to 100 kW and an exceptionally compact design. With the help of the offered accessories, it is possible to realize a 400 kW boiler cascade with low space requirements.
2008 - The company BBT Thermotechnik GmbH was renamed effective January 1 to Bosch Thermotechnik GmbH. The Buderus brand continues to maintain its separate identity in the brand portfolio.
2011 - The Buderus MyDevice application offers a completely new dimension of thermal comfort: with the MyDevice system, it is possible to conveniently control the heating system on the go - simply by swiping your finger across the smartphone display.
2014 - The revolutionary inverter technology of air-to-water heat pumps allows energy to be drawn from the air and converted into heat. It thus offers the possibility of using renewable energy sources for heating and the preparation of hot utility water.
2015 - Buderus introduces the new Titanium range, which combines the highest level of energy efficiency and system-integrated technology, in a new timeless design.
2021 - Buderus celebrates 290 years since its founding by J. W. Buderus.
