Solution: The ceramic cartridge can be removed and inspected. For minor dirt, it is sufficient to carefully clean the plates under running water and return them to their place. If the plates are scratched or cracked, the cartridge must be replaced with a new one. Dripping from the joint – between the tap and the spout pipe (aerator)

This type of leak is manifested by water not dripping from the spout, but directly from the place where the spout is attached to the body of the tap. The cause is a worn O-ring on the swivel joint of the spout. This problem is very common – in the humid environment of the bathroom, rubber ages faster than expected, and with every rotation of the spout, the seal is additionally worn out.

Weak water flow from a CLAGE tap is the second most common problem. It can appear suddenly (e.g. after renovation or after a water outage) or gradually increase over months. It is important to distinguish whether the weak flow affects only one tap or the entire apartment/house.

At the same time, it also functions as a filter – capturing impurities, sand, limescale and other solid particles from the pipe.

In practice, a clogged aerator is the cause of weak flow in the vast majority of cases when the problem affects only one faucet. The solution is simple:

  • Unscrew the aerator from the spout (usually by hand, or with a flat wrench wrapped in a cloth to protect the surface)
  • Disassemble the aerator – it usually consists of 2-3 parts (mesh, body, rubber gasket)
  • Rinse the dirt under running water, for limescale soak the parts in vinegar (white wine or technical) for 30-60 minutes
  • After cleaning, reassemble the aerator and screw it back on
  • Test the flow – if it has improved, the problem is solved

If the aerator is mechanically damaged or corroded, it needs to be replaced. Most aerators have standard threads M22×1 or M24×1 – it is almost a universal component available in any larger hardware store. Clogged inlet filter (mesh) in the tap connection
