The IVAR.045 board, code ESE045II, is a dependent electronic control for IVAR.FARNA and IVAR.FARNA BIG fan coils in a two-pipe system. It is fitted inside the unit and works together with the IVAR.749 wall panel (EEB749II, EFB749II), from which it receives its commands. Without one of the recommended controls the fan coil will not operate.

The wall panel connects to terminals +BA−: it is powered by the board via + and −, while A and B carry the communication over the RS485 bus, so the polarity must be observed. The cable should be two-core and routed separately from power lines. One panel can thus control up to 16 units with the same board; the panel and the units must be paired.
Inputs and outputs
- L-N – 230 V / 50 Hz power supply,
- M1 – DC Inverter fan motor,
- Y1 – 230 V / 50 Hz, 1 A output for the water valve's electrothermal actuator,
- CH/C1 and BO/C2 – volt-free contacts (max. 1 A) for cooling and heating demand, e.g. to a chiller, boiler or heat pump; they close after a 1-minute delay,
- CP – input for a window or door contact,
- H2/T2 – water temperature sensor; with water below 30 °C in heating or above 20 °C in cooling, the panel reports an incorrect water temperature.
Variants and installation
On IVAR.FARNA models, DIP switch A on the board must be set to ON; for a wireless link to the EGB749II panel, the ESE046II board is used. Connection must only be carried out by a qualified electrician.
