IVAR.044 control for IVAR.FARNA, BIG fan coils – built-in touch panel, 230 V, Modbus option – SALE
Code: ECA044IIRelated products
Product detailed description
The IVAR.044 control, code ECA044II, mounts directly on the casing of an IVAR.FARNA or IVAR.FARNA BIG fan coil in a two-pipe system. It consists of a touch control panel with thermostat and a control board that varies the speed of the DC Inverter fan without steps. According to the manufacturer's designation it can also be integrated into a Modbus network; the accessory bag includes, among other parts, a terminal for the serial connection (−BA+).
Operation
A remote control with a CR2430 3 V lithium battery is included; its buttons have the same functions as the panel and its range is up to 8 m. The panel shows the operating status and faults and keeps its settings even after a power cut. The manufacturer recommends the touch display and remote control solution mainly where the fan coil runs predominantly in cooling mode. If an IVAR.749 wall panel is connected, the display on the unit only shows information and settings are made on the wall panel.
Control board inputs and outputs
- Y1 – 230 V / 50 Hz, 1 A output for the electrothermal actuator,
- CH/C1 and BO/C2 – volt-free contacts (max. 1 A) for the cooling source, e.g. chiller or reversible heat pump, and for the heat source, e.g. boiler; they close together with Y1 after a 1-minute delay,
- CP – input for a window contact, remote on/off or presence sensor, which puts the unit into standby,
- sensors – room temperature and a 10 kΩ water temperature sensor in the heat exchanger; the fan stops when the water is below 30 °C in heating or above 20 °C in cooling.
Settings and installation
The menu lets you set the room sensor offset (−9 to +9 °C), °C/°F units, buzzer volume, the digital input function and anti-stratification for units mounted low near the floor or high near the ceiling. The display reports sensor, motor and communication faults (E1, E2, E3, CE). On IVAR.FARNA models, DIP switch A must be set to ON. Electrical connection must only be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Frequently asked questions
Is a remote control included?
Yes, the ECA044II panel comes with a remote control powered by a CR2430 3 V lithium battery. Its range is up to 8 m and its buttons have the same functions as those on the panel.
Can a wall control be connected as well?
Yes, the control can be combined with the IVAR.749 wall panel (EEB749II, EFB749II or EGB749II). Settings are then changed only on the wall panel, and the display on the fan coil is used for indication only.
What is the CP input for?
For connecting an external volt-free contact, such as a window contact, remote on/off or a presence sensor. When the contact closes, the fan coil switches to standby.

IVAR designs, develops and manufactures highly energy-efficient heating and plumbing systems. We have over 10,000 catalogue items - mass-produced products and unique items - in addition to customised systems and combinations of complex products. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Vision
To make life easier for our clients, our clients' customers and our employees, thanks to our ability to be constantly innovative.
Mission
To design and manufacture advanced hydronic solutions that reduce installation complexity and energy consumption.
“Made in Italy” adds value
IVAR has been producing heating and plumbing system components since 1985: valves for heating bodies, direct heat metering modules, heat cost allocators, pipes and fittings, substations for heating systems, distribution manifolds, radiant panel systems, and components for solar and geothermal systems. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Over 200 people are employed at our manufacturing facilities in Prevalle (in northern Italy’s Brescia province). The site has been designed to streamline our many production and operational stages.
The Italian headquarters also acts as a hub for the wider IVAR Group, set up with the goal of distributing products beyond Italy’s borders. The group now has 11 branches, in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Tunisia.
Know How
Research, development and numerous laboratory tests guarantee that our clients’ requests can be translated into new high-efficiency products.
The stages required for production take place internally, beginning with hot forming, which is carried out at our subsidiary Valmon Stampati. Our continuous implementation of projects under the Industry 4.0 initiative also allows us to take full advantage of new releases in technology and IT to improve our manufacturing efficiency.
As a company, IVAR is constantly evolving. Every day, we invest in strengthening our products, in improving our production processes and in attaining new patents and certifications.
