Rainwater has the advantage

The AQUATWIN TOP 4050 station (referred to as 40/50 in the manual) from manufacturer DAB supplies utility water to consumption points – washing machines, toilet flushing, floor cleaning, or irrigation. It preferentially draws water from a rainwater tank; when the water level is insufficient, the control unit switches the suction via three-way valves to the built-in water reservoir from the water supply with a volume of 150 l, ensuring that the consumption points are not left without water. The water supplied by the station is not potable.

The station can be connected to one or two independent rainwater tanks. With two tanks, each three-way valve controls suction separately, and the station can operate in a mixed mode with rainwater and water from the water supply.

How the station works

Two self-priming pumps are activated according to a pressure sensor and alternate at individual consumption points. If one pump is not sufficient to maintain the required pressure, the second one is added. In case of insufficient water, the pumps stop and the panel reports a fault; once the supply is restored, the station automatically resumes operation.

Installation

Install the station in a well-ventilated location protected from weather influences, with ambient temperatures between +5 and +40 °C and as close as possible to the rainwater tank – the suction pipe may be up to 20 m long and 3 m high. The drain must be visibly led to the sewer via a pipe with a minimum diameter of DN 50. Installation and electrical connection (1 × 230 V, 30 mA residual current device) must be carried out by a qualified professional.
