Frequently asked questions

  • How can I check that "DC0129 Block - nozzle extension" fits my appliance exactly? The most reliable way is to compare the exact type/catalogue designation on the rating plate of your appliance (boiler, storage tank, water heater) with the compatibility stated directly in the name of this product (Atmos brand) and in its technical parameters above. If in doubt, send us the exact type designation of your appliance (including the serial number, if applicable) and we will gladly verify compatibility for you.
  • Why is it important to use the original/compatible part rather than a universal replacement? Parts such as gaskets, sensors or safety components (safety valves, thermal fuses) are generally sized precisely for the parameters of the specific appliance (pressure, temperature, electrical resistance of the sensor) – an incorrect part can cause reduced functionality, leaks or, in the case of safety components, a real safety risk.
  • Does this part have to be installed by a professional? For simpler mechanical parts (e.g. gaskets, covers, small accessories with no connection to electricity, gas or the pressure part), a skilled DIY enthusiast can usually handle the replacement after disconnecting the appliance from the power supply and the piping. However, for any work on the gas, electrical or pressure part of the appliance (e.g. sensors directly in the combustion chamber, safety valves, electrical modules) we always recommend a service technician – especially if the intervention could affect the warranty of the whole appliance.
  • How do I know this part is worn and needs replacing? Common signs are visible wear/cracking (on gaskets and rubber parts), water or flue gas leaks at the part, an error message on the control display (for sensors and electronic modules), or clearly reduced performance of the appliance (e.g. irregular burning with burner parts). If in doubt, the safest option is to have a service technician assess the condition during the regular annual inspection.
  • Is it worth keeping this part at home as a spare? For parts that are subject to normal wear (gaskets, fuses, small mechanical parts) and whose failure would mean a heating or hot water outage, keeping a spare is a sensible precaution – especially for an older appliance, for which it may be harder to source the part at short notice.

Company History

The family company ATMOS was founded in the Czech Republic in 1935. In the beginning, production was focused on gasifier power units for cars and boats under the brand name DOKOGEN, i.e. the same principle used in modern gasifier boilers for wood and coal.

Despite the German occupation and communist dictatorship, it was possible to maintain the development of wood boilers, gasifier units and compressors. In 1980, at the Pragotherm exhibition, the first wood gasifier boilers and wood waste boilers were presented. To date, 90 types of hot water boilers have been developed, for which the company holds 15 patents. One of the first developed boilers was the EKONOMIK boiler in 1968.

To ensure the European market with quality boilers that save the environment and energy, three generations of the Cankář family are currently working in the family business. The founder of the company, Jaroslav Cankář senior, passed away in March 2006 at the age of 94.
