Water heating in the tank
IVAR.ASKO HEAT AHR-B-C-9,0 is the most powerful element in its range: 9,0 kW at 3 × 400 V AC. It consists of three U-shaped heating rods made of Cronifer 1.4529 (Ø 8,2 mm) welded into a brass sleeve with a conical external thread of 6/4". The immersion length is 750 mm, of which the first 150 mm from the sleeve remain unheated, which reduces limescale buildup in the neck. The low surface load of 8–9 W/cm² also contributes in the same direction.

- electromechanical temperature controller according to EN 14597, adjustable from anti-freeze position up to approx. +85 °C
- emergency thermostat +110 °C with lockout, manual reset only after cooling down by approx. 10 K
- integrated contactor, ON / OFF / AUTO switch and LED mode indicator
- in AUTO mode, heating is enabled by a 230 V signal, e.g. from a heat pump
- impact-resistant polycarbonate covers, IP41 protection, protection against dry running
Application and installation
The element is suitable as a backup or supplementary heating for heat pumps, solar systems, photovoltaics or wood, oil and gas boilers, or as anti-freeze protection. It must be mounted horizontally with the TOP mark upwards, the rods must be fully immersed and a distance of 50–100 mm must be maintained from the inner wall of the tank. Electrical connection with a fixed cable with disconnection of all poles must be carried out only by a qualified electrician.

Frequently asked questions
Which tank is suitable for an element with a length of 750 mm?
Into a tank with a 6/4" flange, where after insertion at least 50 to 100 mm remains from the inner wall. The rods can expand by up to 30 mm when heated, so at least 50 mm must be maintained.
Can the element be switched from a heat pump?
Yes, in AUTO mode the heating is activated by a 230 V signal on terminal 2, which the heat pump uses to enable additional heating. In ON mode the element runs according to its own controller.
What to do if the emergency thermostat trips?
The thermostat switches off at +110 °C and remains locked. It is reset by pressing the Reset button with a screwdriver, only after the temperature has dropped by about 10 K; if it tripped due to a fault, the system must be checked by a qualified person.
Can I install two elements in one flange?
No, not in a flange with two 6/4" connections spaced 120 mm apart (code Y91A20272) – this type of element is not intended for such a double installation.
