Flow monitor for the heat pump
IVAR.TER-TSS is an electronic flow sensor and flow switch supplied as an accessory for IVAR.HP MEGA and LEGEND heat pumps; the data sheet also lists it for the CALIBRA and ATLAS series. The probe in the pipe measures flow velocity by the calorimetric principle, and a single relay output switches when the flow reaches the set switching point. The output is normally open from the factory and can be changed to normally closed.

Installation and connection
The sensor has an M18 × 1.5 female process connection and is fitted into the pipe via an adapter that is ordered separately. The probe tip must be fully immersed in the medium (at least 12 mm) and must not touch the pipe wall; on horizontal pipes, mounting from the side is recommended. Supply voltage is 90–240 V AC, the relay contact handles 3 A at 250 V AC, and the circuit must be protected by a fast-acting fuse of max. 5 A according to IEC 60127-2. The electrical connection must be made by a qualified electrician.

Is an adapter needed for installation?
Yes. The sensor has an M18 × 1.5 connection and is fitted into the pipe via a process adapter ordered separately. Tighten the nut to a torque of 25 Nm.
How should the sensor be installed in the pipe?
The probe tip must be fully immersed in the medium, at least 12 mm, and must not touch the pipe wall. On horizontal pipes, mounting from the side is recommended; on vertical pipes, in a section with rising flow.
