Flange with Compression Neck IVAR.IVN452 42 mm, DN 40, Stainless Steel AISI 304
Code: IVN452.42Product detailed description
Flange IVAR.IVN452 42 mm connects the crimping system made of stainless steel with valves and devices that have a flange connection. On one side it has a sleeve into which the 42 mm pipe is inserted and crimped, on the other side it has a DN 40 flange. The sleeve diameter corresponds to the pipe, so the fitting is not reduced. It is made of stainless steel AISI 304 (material 1.4301), and the crimped joint is sealed with an EPDM O-ring.
Flange DN 40 dimensions
- outer diameter D: 150 mm
- hole circle diameter k: 110 mm
- holes for bolts: 4 × Ø 18 mm
- flange thickness H: 16 mm, total length L: 77 mm
Application and operating limits
The flange is suitable for closed heating and cooling circuits, solar systems, compressed air and vacuum distribution, inert and technical gases, technical and operational liquids, and for drainage of waste and rainwater. It can withstand a pressure up to PN 16, a vacuum down to -0.8 bar (absolute pressure 0.2 bar), an operating temperature from -20 °C to +85 °C with a maximum of +120 °C, and a non-freezing mixture with a concentration of up to 50 %. It is not suitable for drinking water – this is indicated by a symbol on the fitting, together with the AISI 304 logo, dimensions and traceability code.
Installation
The 42 mm sleeve has a patented LBP (Leak Before Press) O-ring with a segmented profile, which during a pressure test reveals an uncrimped joint by a liquid leak, and an orange stripe indicating the crimping. It is crimped using jaws with contour M. Installation should be carried out by a qualified professional following the manufacturer's installation instructions; before starting heating, the manufacturer emphasizes the need to flush the entire system and recommends using the preparation GEL.LONG LIFE 100 for water treatment.
The IVAR.IVN452 range is produced in sizes from 35 to 108 mm.

Frequently asked questions
What is the IVAR.IVN452 42 mm flange connected to?
It is crimped onto a stainless steel pipe of 42 mm and connected via a DN 40 flange to a flanged valve or device. It is intended, for example, for closed heating and cooling systems, not for drinking water.
What dimensions does the flange have for selecting a gasket?
The outer diameter of the flange is 150 mm, the thickness is 16 mm, and the 4 × Ø 18 mm bolt holes lie on a circle with a diameter of 110 mm.
With what tool is the sleeve crimped?
Using a crimping tool with jaws of contour M. Cut the pipe perpendicularly first, deburr the inside and outside, insert it fully and crimp it in one attempt, as repeated crimping may damage the seal.
Can I tell if the sleeve remains uncrimped?
Yes, the LBP O-ring will allow liquid to pass during a pressure test until the joint is crimped, and the orange stripe indicates the crimping status. For the 42 mm size, both features are included.

IVAR designs, develops and manufactures highly energy-efficient heating and plumbing systems. We have over 10,000 catalogue items - mass-produced products and unique items - in addition to customised systems and combinations of complex products. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Vision
To make life easier for our clients, our clients' customers and our employees, thanks to our ability to be constantly innovative.
Mission
To design and manufacture advanced hydronic solutions that reduce installation complexity and energy consumption.
“Made in Italy” adds value
IVAR has been producing heating and plumbing system components since 1985: valves for heating bodies, direct heat metering modules, heat cost allocators, pipes and fittings, substations for heating systems, distribution manifolds, radiant panel systems, and components for solar and geothermal systems. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Over 200 people are employed at our manufacturing facilities in Prevalle (in northern Italy’s Brescia province). The site has been designed to streamline our many production and operational stages.
The Italian headquarters also acts as a hub for the wider IVAR Group, set up with the goal of distributing products beyond Italy’s borders. The group now has 11 branches, in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Tunisia.
Know How
Research, development and numerous laboratory tests guarantee that our clients’ requests can be translated into new high-efficiency products.
The stages required for production take place internally, beginning with hot forming, which is carried out at our subsidiary Valmon Stampati. Our continuous implementation of projects under the Industry 4.0 initiative also allows us to take full advantage of new releases in technology and IT to improve our manufacturing efficiency.
As a company, IVAR is constantly evolving. Every day, we invest in strengthening our products, in improving our production processes and in attaining new patents and certifications.
