Product detailed description

Flue gas thermostat S0031 for ATMOS boilers

Code S0031 designates a flue gas thermostat from the group of control panel spare parts (thermostats, switches). Its function is to switch off the boiler fan when the fuel has burned out.

ParameterValue
PartFlue gas thermostat S0031
Functionswitching off the fan after the fuel has burned out
Temperature range-15 to 300 °C
ApplicationATMOS boilers (except for the exceptions listed)

Boilers it is not suitable for

The S0031 thermostat fits most ATMOS boilers. However, do not use it with the following models:

  • DC75SE
  • DCxxGSX
  • DCxxSP
  • CxxSP (from 2012)
  • boilers modified to the 2017 model

Which thermostat to choose instead

  • Three-chamber ATMOS boilers DCxxSP(L), DCxxGSP(L), CxxSP(L), ACxxSP(L) and KCxxSP(L) produced from 2012 (from serial no. 242400): the S0078 flue gas thermostat is intended for these.
  • ATMOS boilers modified for a pellet burner, 2017 model (AD03): also the S0078 flue gas thermostat.
  • DC75SE and DCxxGSX boilers: the S0019 flue gas thermostat is intended for these.

What the package does not include

The black knob on the boiler panel is not included in the delivery. If you need it, order it separately: knob for thermostats.

Therefore, before ordering, check the exact type and year of manufacture of your boiler so that you choose the correct thermostat.

Frequently asked questions

  • How do I choose the right output for a solid fuel boiler? Start from the calculated heat loss of the heated building. With wood/coal boilers, however, also consider that during a single load the boiler burns for several hours at an essentially constant output. That is why it is common practice to add an accumulation tank to the boiler, which stores the excess heat for later use instead of the boiler having to be throttled down inefficiently.
  • What else do I need to install this boiler? Besides the boiler itself, the system usually requires: an accumulation (buffer) tank of suitable volume, a circulation pump (often already with a built-in Laddomat or a thermoregulating valve protecting the boiler against low-temperature corrosion), a safety valve, an expansion vessel, and a flue/chimney with sufficient draught corresponding to the boiler output - you will find the exact chimney draught values in the technical parameters above.
  • What fuel is suitable and what is not? Use only the fuel recommended by the manufacturer for the given model (usually split logs of defined length and moisture content, or brown coal briquettes or coal, depending on the boiler type) - unsuitable or overly moist fuel reduces efficiency, increases the formation of tar and deposits and may damage the boiler.
  • What about chimney inspection and legislation? Before the boiler is put into operation, and also regularly during its use (usually once a year for solid fuels), an inspection/cleaning of the chimney by an authorised chimney sweep is required by law - without the relevant inspection report, an insurance claim in the event of a fire may also be disputed.
  • How much maintenance does the boiler require? It usually includes regular removal of ash and cleaning of the heat exchange surfaces/flue gas passages from soot (the interval depends on the intensity of use, usually in the order of weeks), and a thorough inspection once a year, including the seals and the chimney.
  • Can I install the boiler myself? The positioning of the boiler and its connection to the heating system, the chimney and the safety devices should be carried out, or at least professionally checked, by a heating technician - it is an appliance with an open fire, high temperatures and pressure components, where a connection error can pose a safety risk.

Company History

The family company ATMOS was founded in the Czech Republic in 1935. In the beginning, production was focused on gasifier power units for cars and boats under the brand name DOKOGEN, i.e. the same principle used in modern gasifier boilers for wood and coal.

Despite the German occupation and communist dictatorship, it was possible to maintain the development of wood boilers, gasifier units and compressors. In 1980, at the Pragotherm exhibition, the first wood gasifier boilers and wood waste boilers were presented. To date, 90 types of hot water boilers have been developed, for which the company holds 15 patents. One of the first developed boilers was the EKONOMIK boiler in 1968.

To ensure the European market with quality boilers that save the environment and energy, three generations of the Cankář family are currently working in the family business. The founder of the company, Jaroslav Cankář senior, passed away in March 2006 at the age of 94.

Company ATMOS – present

Atmos is a Czech family company and currently one of the largest European manufacturers of solid fuel boilers. The company exports more than 60% of its production abroad, mainly to Germany, Austria, Sweden, Italy, France, Romania, Poland, Bulgaria, Denmark, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine, Belarus, Spain, the United Kingdom, etc.

The product range includes solid fuel boilers, gasification boilers for wood from 15 to 150 kW, gasification boilers for brown coal (and wood) from 16 to 48 kW, gasification boiler for brown coal briquettes and black coal with a power of 16 and 26 kW, automatic pellet boilers from 4.5 to 80 kW and combined boilers for gasification of wood in combination with a pellet burner in power from 20 to 35 kW. Products of the company Atmos have aroused great interest among users heating with wood and installers, due to their good functionality, quality and, last but not least, very favorable price.

The goal of the company ATMOS is to be one of the best boiler manufacturers in Europe. To be a company that values its tradition, experience and the ATMOS brand
