THERMIA CALIBRA E 8 (code IHP203648) is a compact inverter heat pump ground/water for single-family houses and apartments. It extracts heat from a borehole or a ground collector and with a power of 2–8 kW ensures heating and hot water preparation in a new or renovated building. The CALIBRA E range is suitable for buildings with a heat loss up to 24 kW. The IHP203648 version is according to the manufacturer's designation intended for 230 V supply.

System Expansion

With the expansion card EM3, it controls a mixed heating circuit, an external auxiliary heat source (e.g., gas boiler), an activated buffer tank for a stove insert or solar system, and pool heating. For passive cooling from a borehole, the manufacturer recommends a passive cooling hydromodule.

Design and Installation

Power is designed in the calculation program Thermia HPC. The heat pump is placed in a non-freezing room on a solid base, ideally a concrete floor, and not in a corner – with the tank filled, it weighs 340 kg. The non-freezing fluid circuit is filled with a mixture of water and ethanol with a freezing point of -17 ± 2 °C, a magnetic dirt separator with a filter must be installed in the return line, and the system must have at least 14 l of water per kW of minimum power. The connection kit IVAR.TER-PS (IHP08645676) is ordered separately. Installation and commissioning are carried out by a professional company, electrical installation by an electrician, and work on the refrigeration circuit by a technician qualified in refrigeration technology.
