THERMIA CALIBRA E COOL 12 (code IHP206944) is a compact inverter heat pump ground/water, which in addition to heating and hot water preparation can also cool the house in summer. It extracts heat from a borehole or a flat ground collector and operates in the range of 3–12 kW. The CALIBRA E range is suitable for new buildings and renovations with a heat loss up to 24 kW.

System expansion

The COOL model has cooling directly in the heat pump, so it does not need a separate passive cooling hydromodule; the cooling temperature is set in a separate Cooling menu. An activated buffer tank and active cooling are not available with this model. With the expansion card EM3 you can add a mixing circuit, an external auxiliary heat source and pool heating. Pipes used for cooling must be vapour-tight insulated.

Design and installation

Power is designed in the calculation program Thermia HPC. The heat pump is placed in a frost-free room on a solid base, ideally a concrete floor, and not in a corner – with a filled tank it weighs 359 kg. The antifreeze circuit is filled with a mixture of water and ethanol with a freezing point of -17 ± 2 °C, a magnetic dirt separator with a filter must be installed in the return of the heating system and there must be at least 14 l of water per kW of minimum power in the system. The connecting kit IVAR.TER-PS (IHP08645676) is ordered separately. Installation and commissioning is carried out by a professional company, electrical installation by an electrician and work on the cooling circuit by a technician qualified in refrigeration technology.
