Detailed information

Product detailed description

GSM module ATMOS AB01.

This is a new special multifunctional device from ATMOS, used to control various elements in a family house system via a mobile phone. It is equipped with many predefined functions that simplify and facilitate its installation and operation.

This is a device that does not replace the ATMOS ACD 01 weather-compensating control or the functions in the ATMOS A25 and A45 pellet burners, but extends its capabilities and control via mobile phone.
The main application of the GSM module ATMOS AB01 is found where automatic boilers fired by pellets, natural gas or heating oil are used for heating.

Basic use of the GSM module ATMOS AB01 (when controlled via mobile phone):

  • control, switching on and off of any automatic pellet boiler, natural gas boiler or electric boiler.
  • control, switching on and off of up to 3 separate automatic pellet, natural gas or electric boilers with a cascade function.
  • intelligent four-state control of the ATMOS ACD 01 weather-compensating control, the HONEYWELL SMILE type and THETA series controllers, and thereby control of the complete heating system.
  • sending information about the outdoor temperature, the temperature in the reference room, the temperature in the heating system and communication with other devices and appliances, easy retrieval of statements, credit balances, etc.
  • control of pumps in the heating system, control of DHW circulation, control of DHW heating via an electric heating element, control of the pump behind the heat exchanger for pool heating, etc.
  • control of the minimum return water temperature to the boiler (one circuit), control to a constant temperature, etc.
  • control of a solid fuel boiler with an induced-draught or pressure fan according to flue gas temperature.
  • the option to define your own functions for the outputs and inputs of the GSM controller, including tone dialling to control your own devices in the house, thereby creating the full comfort of a smart home, e.g. control of electric gates, lighting, simple security devices, etc.
  • the option of naming inputs and outputs yourself for easier orientation in setting up and controlling devices, easy remote access thanks to the GSM interface with PIN protection
  • the option to select a group of permitted access phone numbers for controlling and setting up the applications.
  • the option to connect a backup battery (12 V), thereby protecting against a system outage, with the option of sending information about the outage.
  • the option of configuring and monitoring the system via special PC software.

Note: The functions can be used depending on the occupancy of the inputs and outputs. Configuration and programming are done via SMS messages; for more complex functions it is better to use a laptop with a connecting cable (RS232 port), which is available for purchase from us as standard. An installation CD with the activation program and instructions is included in the package.

Controller features:

  • power supply input 230V / 50Hz
  • 12V battery input to ensure operation via a backup power source (battery)
  • option to connect an external antenna to boost a weak GSM signal
  • 3 analogue inputs
  • 3 digital inputs
  • 3 universal potential-free outputs - for controlling electrical devices such as boilers, pumps, fans, etc.
  • special potential-free output - 4-state, for controlling ATMOS ACD01 controllers, etc. - can also be used as a normal 2-state output
  • RS232 communication port for connecting to a computer to configure individual functions
  • information about the GSM module's temperature via a built-in temperature sensor - protection against critical temperature with the option to send an alarm (fire protection in the house, in the boiler room, etc.)

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How can I check that the “GSM module ATMOS AB01” fits my exact appliance? The most reliable way is to compare the exact type/catalogue designation on your appliance's nameplate (boiler, storage tank, water heater) with the compatibility stated directly in this product's name (Atmos brand) and in its technical parameters above. If in doubt, send us the exact type designation of your appliance (including the serial number, if available) - we will gladly verify compatibility for you.
  • Why is it important to use the original/compatible part rather than a universal replacement? Parts such as gaskets, sensors or safety elements (safety valves, thermal fuses) are usually dimensioned exactly to the parameters of the specific appliance (pressure, temperature, sensor resistance) - the wrong part can cause reduced function, leaks, or in the case of safety elements, a real safety risk.
  • Does this part have to be installed by a professional? For simpler, mechanical parts (e.g. gaskets, covers, small accessories with no connection to electricity, gas or the pressure system) a handy DIYer can usually manage the replacement after disconnecting the appliance from power and the system. However, for any work on the gas, electrical or pressure parts of the appliance (e.g. sensors directly in the combustion chamber, safety valves, electrical modules) we always recommend a service technician - especially since such work could affect the validity of the warranty on the whole appliance.
  • How do I know this part is worn and needs replacing? Common signs are visible wear/cracking (for gaskets and rubber parts), water or flue gas leaking at the part, an error message on the control display (for sensors and electronic modules), or a clearly reduced function of the appliance (e.g. irregular burning in burner parts). If in doubt, the safest option is to have a service technician assess the condition during the regular annual inspection.
  • Is it worth keeping this part at home as a spare? For parts that are subject to regular wear (gaskets, fuses, small mechanical parts) and whose failure would mean an outage of heating or hot water, keeping a spare on hand is a sensible precaution - especially for an older appliance for which the part may be harder to source quickly.

Company History

The family company ATMOS was founded in the Czech Republic in 1935. In the beginning, production was focused on gasifier power units for cars and boats under the brand name DOKOGEN, i.e. the same principle used in modern gasifier boilers for wood and coal.

Despite the German occupation and communist dictatorship, it was possible to maintain the development of wood boilers, gasifier units and compressors. In 1980, at the Pragotherm exhibition, the first wood gasifier boilers and wood waste boilers were presented. To date, 90 types of hot water boilers have been developed, for which the company holds 15 patents. One of the first developed boilers was the EKONOMIK boiler in 1968.

To ensure the European market with quality boilers that save the environment and energy, three generations of the Cankář family are currently working in the family business. The founder of the company, Jaroslav Cankář senior, passed away in March 2006 at the age of 94.

Company ATMOS – present

Atmos is a Czech family company and currently one of the largest European manufacturers of solid fuel boilers. The company exports more than 60% of its production abroad, mainly to Germany, Austria, Sweden, Italy, France, Romania, Poland, Bulgaria, Denmark, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine, Belarus, Spain, the United Kingdom, etc.

The product range includes solid fuel boilers, gasification boilers for wood from 15 to 150 kW, gasification boilers for brown coal (and wood) from 16 to 48 kW, gasification boiler for brown coal briquettes and black coal with a power of 16 and 26 kW, automatic pellet boilers from 4.5 to 80 kW and combined boilers for gasification of wood in combination with a pellet burner in power from 20 to 35 kW. Products of the company Atmos have aroused great interest among users heating with wood and installers, due to their good functionality, quality and, last but not least, very favorable price.

The goal of the company ATMOS is to be one of the best boiler manufacturers in Europe. To be a company that values its tradition, experience and the ATMOS brand
