Hornisse anti-icing heating cable 6.5 mm, 10 m (300 W)
Code: HOCAB-ODR-30-300Product detailed description
The Hornisse anti-icing heating cable with a length of 10 m and a power of 300 W protects external surfaces from freezing and snow accumulation. It can be laid on driveways, sidewalks and stairs, as well as in downspouts and gutters, where ice causes the most damage. It is powered from the 230 V grid and, once switched on, emits heat to the surroundings, so snow melts and frost does not form.
Heat is distributed evenly, so snow and ice melt across the entire heated surface. In addition to ensuring the safety of pedestrians and vehicles, you also protect the surface itself, as you do not need to break up ice mechanically. The cable is flexible and can be laid on flat surfaces, in gutters and in more complex structures.
Such systems are appreciated by both individuals and companies who care about property safety and want to prevent water drainage from being damaged in winter. They are most useful in areas with heavy snowfall and frequent frost, where manual shoveling and salting would be exhausting and time-consuming.
Main Features
- Power 30 W/m – heating designed for winter conditions, at 230 V voltage.
- Weather resistance – the cable withstands low temperatures, humidity and UV radiation.
- Even heating – heat reaches the entire heated surface and prevents frost formation.
- Flexible construction – round twin-core cable with 100 % shielding can be laid on flat surfaces and in gutters.
- Durable sheath – the outer insulation made of PVC has UV protection.
- Automatic operation – in combination with a thermostat and sensors for humidity and temperature, it is switched on only when needed.
- Long service life – the materials used are designed for long-term operation even in harsh weather conditions.

Application
- Driveways and sidewalks – prevent snow or ice from settling on external surfaces and keep them safely passable.
- Outdoor stairs – reduce the risk of slipping on icy steps.
- Gutters and downspouts – protect drainage from freezing, damage and blockage by ice.
During installation, maintain a minimum installation temperature of 5 °C and lay the cable evenly so that its branches do not touch or cross. Do not cut the cable. Use a thermostat with humidity and temperature sensors to control it, which will switch the cable on only when frost is imminent. For higher safety, it is recommended to add the NTC-10 sensor.
Other lengths in the range
The range of Hornisse anti-icing cables with a power of 30 W/m includes versions with lengths of 10, 21, 32, 49 and 70 m, with power of 300, 630, 960, 1470 and 2100 W. Choose the length according to the area or route you want to protect. This unit has a length of 10 m, power of 300 W, current of 1.4 A and resistance of 176.3 Ω.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where can the anti-icing cable be used?
On driveways, sidewalks and outdoor stairs, as well as in downspouts and gutters, where it protects against freezing and ice damage.
How is the cable controlled?
Best in combination with a thermostat and humidity and temperature sensors. The system is then switched on only when necessary, which saves energy. For higher safety, the manufacturer recommends the NTC-10 sensor.
What is the difference between the 10 m cable and the others in the range?
The specific power of 30 W/m is the same, the difference is in the length and thus in the total power, current draw and resistance. This unit has 10 m, 300 W, 1.4 A and 176.3 Ω.
