Hornisse anti-icing heating cable 6.5 mm, 49 m (1470 W)

Product detailed description

The Hornisse anti-icing cable model with a length of 49 m and a power of 1470 W is designed for larger outdoor areas that need to be kept free of snow and ice in winter. It is most commonly laid in driveways, sidewalks and stairs, but it also suits gutters and downpipes. The 230 V power supply and 1470 W power place it among the more powerful versions of this range.

Heat is distributed evenly, so snow and ice melt on the entire heated surface. In addition to pedestrian and vehicle safety, you also protect the surface itself, as you do not have to break up the ice mechanically. The cable is flexible and can be laid on flat surfaces, gutters and more complex structures.

Such systems are appreciated by individuals and companies who care about property safety and want to ensure that water drainage is not damaged in winter. They are most useful in areas with heavy snowfall and frequent frost, where manual snow removal and salting would be exhausting and time-consuming.

Main Features

• Power 30 W/m – heating designed for winter conditions, at 230 V voltage.
• Weather resistance – the cable withstands low temperatures, humidity and UV radiation.
• Even heating – heat reaches the entire heated surface and prevents frost formation.
• Flexible construction – round twin-core cable with 100 % shielding can be laid on flat surfaces and in gutters.
• Durable sheath – the outer insulation made of PVC has UV protection.
• Automatic operation – in combination with a thermostat and sensors for humidity and temperature, it is switched on only when needed.
• Long service life – the materials used are designed for long-term operation even in harsh weather conditions.

Technical Data

Application

• Driveways and sidewalks – prevent snow or ice from settling on outdoor surfaces and keep them safely passable.
• Outdoor stairs – reduce the risk of slipping on icy steps.
• Gutters and downpipes – protect drainage from freezing, damage and blockage by ice.

During installation, maintain a minimum installation temperature of 5 °C and lay the cable evenly so that its branches do not touch or cross. Do not cut the cable. Use a thermostat with humidity and temperature sensors to control it, which will switch the cable on only when frost is imminent. For higher safety, it is recommended to add the NTC-10 sensor.

Other lengths in the range

The Hornisse anti-icing cable range with a power of 30 W/m includes versions with lengths of 10, 21, 32, 49 and 70 m, with power of 300, 630, 960, 1470 and 2100 W. Choose the length according to the area or route you want to protect. This model has a length of 49 m, a power of 1470 W, a current of 6.7 A and a resistance of 36 Ω.

Frequently asked questions

On which surfaces is the cable suitable?

On flat surfaces, in gutters and on more complex structures, as it is flexible and installs well. Typically, these are driveways, sidewalks and stairs.

Does the cable reduce the risk of surface damage?

Yes, it prevents ice formation, so it is not necessary to break it up, thus preventing surface damage.

What power and current does the 49 m cable have?

It has a power of 1470 W, draws a current of 6.7 A and has a resistance of 36 Ω. The linear power is 30 W/m and the weight is 2.7 kg.
