The composite heating foil Hornisse (model HO 305) in width 0.5 m, which we sell per meter. You can choose the length yourself – from 1 m to 100 m – and enter the required quantity into the shopping cart. The foil emits infrared heat, is powered by 230 V and is suitable for floor and wall heating.

Note on ordering: please enter into the shopping cart the length of the foil you actually need. One foil can be up to 100 m long, which corresponds to one packaging.

How the heating foil works

Construction and materials used

• The surface is protected by a milky PET foil. Its milky tint is due to the dense material, which better protects against abrasion, and a vapor-tight foil on the top layer of the installation is therefore not necessary.
• High-quality copper strips conduct the current.
• Silver strip with printed pattern can carry a higher load.
• Only the bottom layer of the underlay should be laminated, which ensures the most durable electrical connection between the foil and the compression connector.
• Construction height only 5 mm in addition to the target floor layer.
• Original floor remains, the foil can be laid directly on it.
• The system is designed for dry construction.

Application and installation

This product is intended for customers who need an accurately measured length of foil. At a width of 0.5 m, you order it by the meter and do not have to buy an entire package. A strip can be up to 20 m long and the installed power of one strip must not exceed 1200 W, so for longer runs, the foil must be divided into multiple strips. It can be cut every 25 cm.

The foil is used for floors and walls. Because it is thin and flexible, it can be laid on an existing floor without interfering with its structure. Electrical connection and temperature regulation should be handled by a qualified electrician.

Composite foil and ladder foil – what is the difference

The difference between composite and ladder foil is in the construction. Composite foil consists of several layers, which gives it greater durability and flexibility, and emits heat evenly over its entire surface. Ladder foil has a heating structure made of parallel strips resembling a ladder; heat is mainly generated in the crossbar areas, and is therefore more localized.
