The Hornisse heating cable with a length of 40 m and a power of 600 W is designed for electric floor heating, where the cable is embedded directly into the screed. After connecting to the 230 V power supply, it transfers heat to the surrounding layer, which distributes it into the room from the entire floor surface, so you do not need any radiators or other visible heating elements.

The cable is laid under a layer of screed, either concrete or anhydrite. After embedding, it is completely hidden, does not take up space in the room and does not interfere with its appearance. It is suitable for various floor coverings, for example tiles, panels or carpet.

Application and installation

The cable is suitable for single-family homes, apartments and commercial spaces, for example in bathrooms, kitchens or living rooms, i.e. wherever you want to have a comfortably warm floor. With a power of 15 W/m, the manufacturer recommends it mainly as auxiliary or main heating in well-insulated rooms, both in new buildings and when renovating the original heating system.

During installation, maintain a minimum installation temperature of 5 °C and a maximum bending radius of 50 mm. Lay the cable evenly so that individual loops do not touch or cross each other, and never cut the cable. Before and after embedding the screed, it is reasonable to measure the cable resistance and compare it with the value of 88.2 Ω stated in the technical data. It is advisable to control the floor temperature with a thermostat, which ensures comfortable and energy-efficient operation.

Depending on the size of the heated area, you can choose a shorter or longer cable; the difference between individual pieces is mainly in length, power, current draw and resistance.
