Hornisse heating cable 15 W/m, 5.5 mm, length 80 m (1200 W)
Code: HO HCABLE/15-1200Product detailed description
The Hornisse cable with a length of 80 m and a power of 1200 W belongs to the range of cables for floor heating, which are laid into the screed. It is powered from the 230 V grid and heats through the floor, so the heat comes from below and spreads evenly throughout the entire room without visible heating bodies.
The cable is laid under a layer of screed, concrete or anhydrite. After pouring, it is completely hidden, does not take up space in the room and does not interfere with its appearance. It is suitable under various floor coverings, for example tiles, panels or carpet.
Main features
- Power 15 W/m – specific power suitable for floor heating, which keeps energy consumption within economical limits.
- Embedding in the screed – concrete or anhydrite acts as an insulating layer, so the floor retains heat for a long time and the heating is stable.
- Even heating – heat is distributed over the entire floor surface and no cold zones form in the room.
- Protection by the screed – the layer of screed protects the cable from mechanical damage and from external influences.
- Cable insulation – the core has LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) insulation, the outer sheath is made of XLPE and PVC.
- Low maintenance – the system under the screed has a long service life and requires minimal maintenance.

Application and installation
The cable is suitable for single-family homes, apartments and commercial spaces, for example in bathrooms, kitchens or living rooms, i.e. where you want to have a comfortably warm floor. With a power of 15 W/m, the manufacturer recommends it mainly as auxiliary or main heating in well-insulated rooms, both in new buildings and when renovating the original heating system.
During installation, maintain a minimum installation temperature of 5 °C and a maximum bending radius of 50 mm. Lay the cable evenly so that individual loops do not touch or cross each other, and never cut it. Before and after pouring the screed, it is reasonable to measure the cable resistance and compare it with the value of 44.1 Ω stated in the technical data. It is advisable to control the floor temperature with a thermostat, which will ensure comfortable and energy-efficient operation.
Other lengths in the range
The range of Hornisse cables with a power of 15 W/m includes versions from 15 m to 155 m, i.e. with power from 225 W to 2325 W. Depending on the size of the heated area, you can choose a shorter or longer cable; the difference between individual pieces is mainly in length, power, current and resistance. This piece has a length of 80 m and a power of 1200 W.
