HT end cap – closure for an open socket of a waste pipe

The end cap is a solid cover with a plain (spigot) end that is pushed into the socket of a pipe or fitting. It seals the end of the pipe both watertight and gastight – permanently, or only temporarily during construction. Thanks to the sealing ring in the socket, it prevents sewer odours from escaping.

Application

Spare outlets – preparation for the future connection of a sanitary fixture.
Watertightness test – closing off branches before filling the pipework with water.
Protection during construction – prevents debris, mortar and insects from getting into the system.
Disused branches – permanent blanking off after a sanitary fixture has been removed.

Installation

Apply lubricant to the end cap and push it into the socket as far as it will go. During a pressure test, secure it against being pushed out – with a clamp or by bracing it against the structure, because the water column acts on its entire surface.

Resistance

Polypropylene does not corrode and withstands acidic and alkaline environments, salts and cleaning agents. Only media with a high content of organic solvents are unsuitable.
