Heating systems with solar

Heating systems with a solar installation for domestic hot water

Heating system diagram: solar hot water installation with an unmixed heating circuit

The heating system consists of:

- a wall-hung gas condensing boiler with an integrated three-way valve

- one unmixed heating circuit

- solar domestic hot water heating

- a weather-compensated controller

Notes:

- check the water volume in the system to see whether an additional expansion vessel is needed

- install the safety group in accordance with DIN 1988

- the DHW circulation pump can be wired directly to the boiler electronics. In this case the circulation pump programme is controlled via the FW 100

Description of operation:

The solar cylinder is topped up by the boiler via the upper heat exchanger. To achieve the highest possible solar gain and to protect against scalding, a thermostatic hot water mixing valve must be fitted. The FW 100 weather-compensated controller controls the heating and the solar hot water heating. The switching functions of the solar installation are handled by the ISM 1 solar module (in the diagram it is built into the solar pump station, but in our market it is supplied separately). If the FW 100 controller is built into the boiler, the system can be controlled from the living space using the FB 10 or FB 100 remote control.

Heating system diagram: solar hot water installation and a low loss header

The heating system consists of:

· a wall-hung gas condensing boiler with an integrated three-way valve

· one mixed heating circuit

· solar domestic hot water heating

· a weather-compensated controller

Notes:

· check the water volume in the system to see whether an additional expansion vessel is needed

· install the safety group in accordance with DIN 1988

· the DHW circulation pump can be wired directly to the boiler electronics. In this case the circulation pump programme is controlled via the FW 100

Description of operation:

The solar cylinder is topped up by the boiler via the upper heat exchanger. To achieve the highest possible solar gain and to protect against scalding, a TWM 20 thermostatic hot water mixing valve must be fitted.

Heating system diagram: solar hot water installation with a buffer cylinder and a solar cylinder

The heating system consists of:

- a wall-hung gas condensing boiler with an integrated three-way valve

- one unmixed heating circuit

- solar domestic hot water heating via a buffer cylinder and a solar cylinder

- a weather-compensated controller

Notes:

- check the water volume in the system to see whether an additional expansion vessel is needed

- install the safety group in accordance with DIN 1988

- the DHW circulation pump can be wired directly to the boiler electronics. In this case the circulation pump programme is controlled via the FW 500

- control via the FW 500 controller

Description of operation:

The FW 500 controller is required to operate cylinders connected in series together with an unmixed heating circuit. The switching functions of the solar installation are handled by the ISM 2 solar module (in the diagram it is built into the solar pump station, but in our market it is supplied separately).

Heating system diagram: solar hot water installation with one unmixed and one mixed heating circuit

The heating system consists of:

- a wall-hung gas condensing boiler with an integrated three-way valve

- one unmixed heating circuit

- one mixed heating circuit

- solar domestic hot water heating

- a weather-compensated controller and a quick-fit assembly set (can be replaced with individual components)

Notes:

- check the water volume in the system to see whether an additional expansion vessel is needed

- install the safety group in accordance with DIN 1988

- the DHW circulation pump can be wired directly to the boiler electronics. In this case the circulation pump programme is controlled via the FW 200

Description of operation:

The solar cylinder is topped up by the boiler via the upper heat exchanger. To achieve the highest possible solar gain and to protect against scalding, a TWM 20 thermostatic hot water mixing valve must be fitted. The FW 200 weather-compensated controller controls the heating and the solar hot water heating. The switching functions of the solar installation are handled by the ISM 1 solar module (in the diagram it is built into the solar pump station, but in our market it is supplied separately). For heating systems with two heating circuits it is advisable to use the HW 2 U/G-3 quick-fit assembly set, which contains all the hydraulic and control components required, including the low loss header and the IPM 2 switching module (the quick-fit set can be replaced with standard Junkers components and other parts available in our market).

Heating systems with a solar installation for domestic hot water and heating support

Heating system diagram: solar installation for hot water and heating support with one mixed heating circuit

The heating system consists of:

- a wall-hung gas condensing boiler with an integrated three-way valve

- one mixed heating circuit

- a solar combination cylinder for solar heating support

- a weather-compensated controller

Notes:

- check the water volume in the system to see whether an additional expansion vessel is needed

- install the safety group in accordance with DIN 1988

- the DHW circulation pump can be wired directly to the boiler electronics. In this case the circulation pump programme is controlled via the FW 200

- check whether an additional SV safety valve is needed on the solar cylinder

Description of operation:

Solar heat is delivered to the buffer section of the solar combination cylinder. The hot water in the buffer section heats the inner domestic hot water tank, which can also be topped up by the boiler if necessary. To protect against scalding, a TWM 20 thermostatic hot water mixing valve must be fitted. The FW 200 weather-compensated controller controls the heating and the solar hot water heating. The switching functions of the solar installation are handled by the ISM 2 solar module (in the diagram it is built into the solar pump station, but in our market it is supplied separately). The mixed heating circuit is activated via the IPM 1 module for one heating circuit.

Heating system diagram: solar installation for hot water and heating support with two mixed heating circuits

The heating system consists of:

· a wall-hung gas condensing boiler with an integrated three-way valve

· two mixed heating circuits

· a solar combination cylinder for solar heating support

· a weather-compensated controller and a quick-fit assembly set (can be replaced with individual components)

Notes:

· check the water volume in the system to see whether an additional expansion vessel is needed

· install the safety group in accordance with DIN 1988

· the DHW circulation pump can be wired directly to the boiler electronics. In this case the circulation pump programme is controlled via the FW 200

· you will find more detailed information on solar systems in the "solar systems" section

· check whether an additional SV safety valve is needed on the solar cylinder

Description of operation:

Solar heat is delivered to the buffer section of the solar combination cylinder. The hot water in the buffer section heats the inner domestic hot water tank, which can also be topped up by the boiler if necessary. To protect against scalding, a TWM 20 thermostatic hot water mixing valve must be fitted. The FW 200 weather-compensated controller controls the heating and the solar hot water heating. The switching functions of the solar installation are handled by the ISM 2 solar module (in the diagram it is built into the solar pump station, but in our market it is supplied separately). Both mixed circuits are activated via the IPM 2 module, which is built into the quick-fit assembly set containing all the hydraulic and control components required (the quick-fit set can be replaced with standard Junkers components and other parts available in our market).
