Heating systems without domestic hot water heating
Heating system diagram: Unmixed heating circuit with a low loss header
The heating system consists of:
· a wall-hung gas condensing boiler with an integrated three-way valve
· one unmixed heating circuit
· a weather-compensated controller
Features:
· check the volume of water in the system to see whether an additional expansion vessel is needed
· in heating systems with a flow rate of up to 1000l/h the low loss header can be omitted
· allow for a mechanical safety limiter in line with the underfloor heating manufacturer's data
Description of operation:
The unmixed heating circuit with a low loss header is preferably controlled by the FW 100 weather-compensated controller. The heating pump of the heating circuit (secondary circuit) is activated by the boiler. Temperature is controlled by means of the VF sensor in the low loss header, likewise via the condensing boiler. The TB temperature sensor in the underfloor heating circuit is also connected to the boiler. The FW 100 controller can be mounted in the room or built into the boiler. If it is built into the boiler, the heating system can be controlled from the room using the FB 10 or FB 100 remote control. Communication between the boiler and the controller takes place via a two-wire BUS system.
Alternatively, the FR 100 room controller can also be used.
Heating system diagram: One mixed and one unmixed heating circuit
The heating system consists of:
- a wall-hung gas condensing boiler with an integrated three-way valve
- one unmixed heating circuit
- one mixed heating circuit
- a weather-compensated controller and a quick-fit assembly set (can be replaced by individual components)
Features:
- check the volume of water in the system to see whether an additional expansion vessel is needed
- the heating pump (primary circuit) feeds the low loss header
- the heating circuits are served by secondary heating pumps
Description of operation:
For heating systems with two heating circuits it is advisable to use the HW 2 U/G-3 quick-fit assembly set, which contains all the hydraulic components and those needed for control, including the low loss header and the IPM 2 module. The quick-fit assembly set is connected electrically by means of a mains plug (the set can be replaced by standard Junkers components and other items available on our market). Communication with the FW 200 controller takes place via a two-wire BUS system.
Heating system diagram: One mixed heating circuit and swimming pool heating with system separation
The heating system consists of:
- a wall-hung gas condensing boiler with an integrated three-way valve
- one mixed heating circuit
- pool water heating with system separation
- a weather-compensated controller
Features:
- system separation by means of a heat exchanger is intended primarily for existing or old heating systems
- the pool heat exchanger is used to top up the heat of the pool water while keeping the systems separate
- the heating pump (primary circuit) feeds the low loss header; the heating circuits are served by secondary heating pumps
- check the volume of water in the system to see whether an additional expansion vessel is needed
- allow for a safety limiter in line with the underfloor heating manufacturer's data
- connection of the SDP pool pump to the SR pool temperature controller. When the SOP pump is started by the SR temperature controller, a signal is sent to the IEM module, which starts the P3 secondary circuit pump for heating.
Description of operation:
The temperature of the secondary heating circuit is controlled by means of the VF sensor in the low loss header via the IPM 1 switching module for one heating circuit. The IPM 1 also serves to activate the mixed heating circuit with the P1 heating pump, three-way mixing valve, temperature limiter and temperature sensor. Via a junction, the signal is also passed on to the P2 heating pump in order to feed the heat exchanger. The IEM module receives a signal from the SDR pool temperature controller. When the SDP pump is started by the pool temperature controller, a switching signal is sent to the IEM module, which starts the P3 secondary circuit pump for heating. The IEM function needs to be enabled by the FW 500 controller. Communication with the FW 500 controller is provided by a two-wire BUS system.
