IVAR.IVN412 42-35 mm one-side slip-on reducer, stainless steel AISI 304
Code: IVN412.4235Product detailed description
The reduction IVAR.IVN412 42-35 mm made of stainless steel AISI 304 (1.4301) is a press-fit system fitting, which allows a transition from 42 mm to 35 mm in one step. The smooth insert end with a diameter of 42 mm is inserted into the press-fit socket of another fitting of the same size, while the opposite side has a press-fit socket with an EPDM O-ring for the 35 mm tube. The total length of the reduction is 79 mm.
Applicable for the following systems
- closed heating and cooling circuits, solar systems
- technical and operational liquids, industrial applications
- compressed air, vacuum systems, inert and technical gases
- drainage of waste and rainwater
This reduction is not suitable for potable water – this is also indicated by a symbol in the fitting designation.
Operating limits
- pressure up to PN 16, vacuum down to -0.8 bar (absolute pressure 0.2 bar)
- operating temperature from -20 °C to +120 °C
- anti-freeze mixture with a maximum concentration of 50 %
Installation and inspection of the press-fit
The 35 mm socket is equipped with an LBP (Leak Before Press) O-ring with a broken profile – an unpressed joint will leak during pressure testing and thus cannot pass inspection. Additionally, an orange stripe is located on the socket, which tears during pressing and can be removed by hand.
The 35 mm socket is pressed with single-jaw tools with an M profile, while the joint with the 42 mm insert end is pressed with chain-jaw tools M with at least 3 segments. Insert the tube all the way to the stop and mark its position with a marker. The O-ring may only be moistened with water, never with oil or grease, and each joint is pressed only once.
Warning: Pressed joints must be made by a qualified person according to the IVAR.PRESS FITTING SYSTEM instructions. Before starting the heating system, the manufacturer recommends flushing the entire system.

Frequently asked questions
Can the IVAR.IVN412 reduction be used for potable water?
No, fittings made of AISI 304 steel in this range are not suitable for potable water. They can be used, for example, in closed heating and cooling circuits, solar systems, or for compressed air.
How is the 42-35 mm reduction connected?
The 35 mm tube is inserted into the press-fit socket of the reduction and pressed. The smooth 42 mm end is inserted into the press-fit socket of another 42 mm fitting and pressed together with it.
Which press-fit tools are needed?
The 35 mm socket is pressed with single-jaw tools with an M profile, while the joint with the 42 mm insert end is pressed with chain-jaw tools M with at least 3 segments. Tools with a V profile must not be used for this system.
How can I recognize an unpressed joint?
The 35 mm socket has an LBP O-ring, which releases liquid during pressure testing of an unpressed joint. An unpressed socket is also indicated by an intact orange stripe.

IVAR designs, develops and manufactures highly energy-efficient heating and plumbing systems. We have over 10,000 catalogue items - mass-produced products and unique items - in addition to customised systems and combinations of complex products. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Vision
To make life easier for our clients, our clients' customers and our employees, thanks to our ability to be constantly innovative.
Mission
To design and manufacture advanced hydronic solutions that reduce installation complexity and energy consumption.
“Made in Italy” adds value
IVAR has been producing heating and plumbing system components since 1985: valves for heating bodies, direct heat metering modules, heat cost allocators, pipes and fittings, substations for heating systems, distribution manifolds, radiant panel systems, and components for solar and geothermal systems. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Over 200 people are employed at our manufacturing facilities in Prevalle (in northern Italy’s Brescia province). The site has been designed to streamline our many production and operational stages.
The Italian headquarters also acts as a hub for the wider IVAR Group, set up with the goal of distributing products beyond Italy’s borders. The group now has 11 branches, in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Tunisia.
Know How
Research, development and numerous laboratory tests guarantee that our clients’ requests can be translated into new high-efficiency products.
The stages required for production take place internally, beginning with hot forming, which is carried out at our subsidiary Valmon Stampati. Our continuous implementation of projects under the Industry 4.0 initiative also allows us to take full advantage of new releases in technology and IT to improve our manufacturing efficiency.
As a company, IVAR is constantly evolving. Every day, we invest in strengthening our products, in improving our production processes and in attaining new patents and certifications.
