IVAR.IVN464 35 mm – R 5/4" external thread adapter, crimped, stainless steel AISI 304
Code: IVN464.3514Product detailed description
If you need to screw a 35 mm stainless steel pressed tube into a fitting, device or valve with an internal thread, the connecting sleeve IVAR.IVN464 35 mm – R 5/4" will be suitable. One end has a pressed tube with an EPDM O-ring, the other has an external thread R 5/4"; both parts are joined by a nut with a flat gasket. The sleeve is made of stainless steel AISI 304 (1.4301), the overall length is 85 mm and the dimension Z is 59 mm.
Technical data at a glance
- maximum operating pressure PN 16, vacuum down to -0.8 bar (absolute pressure 0.2 bar)
- operating temperature -20 °C to +85 °C, maximum +120 °C
- antifreeze mixture concentration up to 50 %
- pressing with M contour jaws
What it is and is not suitable for
The sleeve is suitable for closed heating and cooling systems, solar circuits, compressed air and vacuum, inert and technical gases, technical and operating liquids, industrial applications and waste or rainwater. It is not suitable for potable water – it carries the symbol indicating unsuitability for potable water together with the AISI 304 logo, dimensions and traceability code.
Safe connection
The LBP (Leak Before Press) O-ring with a broken profile will cause a liquid leak during a pressure test if the pressed joint was not properly pressed; the orange stripe also indicates a successful press. Seal the thread with a material free of chlorides, as recommended by the system manual. According to the manual, bimetallic corrosion may occur when stainless steel comes into direct contact with carbon steel, so insert a joint made of non-ferrous material between them. Leave the installation to a professional who follows the manufacturer's instructions; before starting the heating system, flush the system, the manufacturer recommends treating the water with the preparation GEL.LONG LIFE 100.
The IVAR.IVN464 range includes sizes from 15 mm – R 1/2" up to 54 mm – R 2".

Frequently asked questions
Where is the IVAR.IVN464 35 mm – R 5/4" sleeve screwed into?
The external thread R 5/4" is screwed into a fitting, device or valve with an internal thread, and the pressed end is pressed onto a 35 mm stainless steel tube. It is intended for closed heating and cooling systems, not for potable water.
What material should be used to seal the thread?
Use only sealants free of chlorides, for example, a chloride-free Teflon tape or a chloride-free hemp rope with paste – as stated in the stainless steel system manual.
Can I connect the sleeve directly to a carbon steel fitting?
Direct contact between stainless steel and carbon steel may cause bimetallic corrosion according to the manual. A joint made of non-ferrous material reduces the risk, and a copper alloy insert at least 50 mm long completely prevents it; stainless steel has no problems with bronze, copper or brass.
What tool is used to press the sleeve and how can I check the connection?
It is pressed with M contour jaws. An unpressed connection will be revealed during a pressure test by the LBP O-ring leaking liquid, and the orange stripe also indicates the pressing status.

IVAR designs, develops and manufactures highly energy-efficient heating and plumbing systems. We have over 10,000 catalogue items - mass-produced products and unique items - in addition to customised systems and combinations of complex products. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Vision
To make life easier for our clients, our clients' customers and our employees, thanks to our ability to be constantly innovative.
Mission
To design and manufacture advanced hydronic solutions that reduce installation complexity and energy consumption.
“Made in Italy” adds value
IVAR has been producing heating and plumbing system components since 1985: valves for heating bodies, direct heat metering modules, heat cost allocators, pipes and fittings, substations for heating systems, distribution manifolds, radiant panel systems, and components for solar and geothermal systems. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Over 200 people are employed at our manufacturing facilities in Prevalle (in northern Italy’s Brescia province). The site has been designed to streamline our many production and operational stages.
The Italian headquarters also acts as a hub for the wider IVAR Group, set up with the goal of distributing products beyond Italy’s borders. The group now has 11 branches, in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Tunisia.
Know How
Research, development and numerous laboratory tests guarantee that our clients’ requests can be translated into new high-efficiency products.
The stages required for production take place internally, beginning with hot forming, which is carried out at our subsidiary Valmon Stampati. Our continuous implementation of projects under the Industry 4.0 initiative also allows us to take full advantage of new releases in technology and IT to improve our manufacturing efficiency.
As a company, IVAR is constantly evolving. Every day, we invest in strengthening our products, in improving our production processes and in attaining new patents and certifications.
