Pipe cap PRESS IVAR.IVN450 – stainless steel AISI 304, 15 mm
Code: IVN450.15Product detailed description
The cap IVAR.IVN450 for size 15 mm closes the end of a stainless steel pipe. It has a single pressing collar that is slid onto a pipe of the same diameter and pressed with pressing tools – without cutting threads and without welding. The fitting is not reduced.
The material is stainless steel 1.4301 (AISI 304), the connection is sealed with an EPDM O-ring. The cap is marked with the logo AISI 304, the size, the traceability code and the symbol indicating unsuitability for drinking water.
The LBP (Leak Before Press) type O-ring is shaped so that an unpressed connection does not leak during a pressure test and reveals itself. The second safety feature is an orange indicator stripe, by which you can immediately recognize an unpressed cap at a glance.
Application
- closed heating and cooling systems
- solar systems
- compressed air and vacuum systems
- inert and technical gases
- technical and operational liquids, industrial applications
- sewage and rainwater
The circuit may contain antifreeze mixture with a concentration of up to 50 %. The cap is not intended for drinking water supply.
Installation and pressing
Connections are pressed with jaws with contour M. For diameter 15 mm, the system manual specifies individual (single-piece) jaws; V-profile jaws must not be used for any size.
Cut the pipe end perpendicularly, deburr it from the inside and outside, and mark the insertion depth with a marker. Before sliding on, check the position of the O-ring; if necessary, moisten it only with water – oils, greases or lubricants are not used. Proceed according to the system installation instructions and flush the circuit before starting; the manufacturer recommends GEL.LONG LIFE 100 for treating heating water.

Frequently asked questions
What is the IVAR.IVN450 cap used for?
It closes the end of a stainless steel pipe with a diameter of 15 mm. It is slid onto the pipe and pressed like other press fittings of the system, without cutting threads.
Is the cap suitable for drinking water supply?
No. The cap made of stainless steel AISI 304 is not suitable for drinking water according to the manufacturer, which is also indicated by a symbol on the product. It belongs to heating, cooling, solar circuits and compressed air or technical gas and liquid circuits.
Which pressing jaws do I need for size 15 mm?
Jaws with contour M; for diameters 15 to 35 mm, individual jaws are sufficient. The system manual prohibits the use of V-profile jaws.
How can I check whether the cap is pressed?
The orange indicator stripe and the LBP O-ring help. An unpressed connection leaks during a pressure test through the O-ring. An omitted pressing can thus be detected even before the system is started.

IVAR designs, develops and manufactures highly energy-efficient heating and plumbing systems. We have over 10,000 catalogue items - mass-produced products and unique items - in addition to customised systems and combinations of complex products. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Vision
To make life easier for our clients, our clients' customers and our employees, thanks to our ability to be constantly innovative.
Mission
To design and manufacture advanced hydronic solutions that reduce installation complexity and energy consumption.
“Made in Italy” adds value
IVAR has been producing heating and plumbing system components since 1985: valves for heating bodies, direct heat metering modules, heat cost allocators, pipes and fittings, substations for heating systems, distribution manifolds, radiant panel systems, and components for solar and geothermal systems. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Over 200 people are employed at our manufacturing facilities in Prevalle (in northern Italy’s Brescia province). The site has been designed to streamline our many production and operational stages.
The Italian headquarters also acts as a hub for the wider IVAR Group, set up with the goal of distributing products beyond Italy’s borders. The group now has 11 branches, in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Tunisia.
Know How
Research, development and numerous laboratory tests guarantee that our clients’ requests can be translated into new high-efficiency products.
The stages required for production take place internally, beginning with hot forming, which is carried out at our subsidiary Valmon Stampati. Our continuous implementation of projects under the Industry 4.0 initiative also allows us to take full advantage of new releases in technology and IT to improve our manufacturing efficiency.
As a company, IVAR is constantly evolving. Every day, we invest in strengthening our products, in improving our production processes and in attaining new patents and certifications.
