PRESS IVAR.IVN450 Pipe Cap – AISI 304 stainless steel, 76.1 mm
Code: IVN450.76Product detailed description
The cap IVAR.IVN450 for size 76.1 mm closes the end of a stainless steel pipe. It has a single pressing collar that is slipped onto a pipe of the same diameter and pressed with pressing tools – without cutting threads and without welding. The fitting is not reduced.
The material is stainless steel 1.4301 (AISI 304), the connection is sealed with an EPDM O-ring. The cap is marked with the logo AISI 304, the size, the traceability code, and the symbol indicating unsuitability for potable water.
In size 76.1 mm, the cap is delivered without the LBP O-ring and without a color indicator for pressing – these are available only for diameters from 15 to 54 mm. After pressing, therefore, visually check the connection; for large diameters, the pressing is clearly visible according to the installation instructions.
Application
- closed heating and cooling systems
- solar systems
- compressed air and vacuum systems
- inert and technical gases
- technical and operational liquids, industrial applications
- sewage and rainwater
The circuit may contain antifreeze with a concentration of up to 50 %. The cap is not intended for potable water supply.
Installation and pressing
Connections are pressed using contour M. For a diameter of 76.1 mm, chain jaws with at least three segments and a suitable adapter are required – the manufacturer does not approve standard single-piece jaws for this size. Profile V is excluded.
For large diameters, the manufacturer recommends clamping the pipe and fitting into installation jigs before pressing to ensure the joint is precisely aligned.
Cut the end of the pipe perpendicularly, deburr it from the inside and outside, and mark the insertion depth with a marker. Before sliding on, check the position of the O-ring; if necessary, moisten it only with water – oils, greases, or lubricants are not used. Proceed according to the system installation instructions and flush the circuit before starting; the manufacturer recommends GEL.LONG LIFE 100 for treating heating water.

Frequently asked questions
What is the IVAR.IVN450 cap used for?
It closes the end of a stainless steel pipe with a diameter of 76.1 mm. It is slipped onto the pipe and pressed like other press fittings in the system, without cutting a thread.
Is the cap suitable for potable water supply?
No. The stainless steel AISI 304 cap is not suitable for potable water according to the manufacturer, as indicated by the symbol on the product. It is intended for heating, cooling, solar circuits, and compressed air or technical gas and liquid systems.
What pressing jaws do I need for size 76.1 mm?
Chain jaws with contour M and at least three segments, usually with a transition adapter. The manufacturer does not approve single-piece jaws for diameters from 42 mm and above, and profile V is prohibited.
Does the 76.1 mm cap have a pressing indicator or an LBP O-ring?
No, both are supplied only for sizes from 15 to 54 mm. For 76.1 mm, the pressing must be visually checked.

IVAR designs, develops and manufactures highly energy-efficient heating and plumbing systems. We have over 10,000 catalogue items - mass-produced products and unique items - in addition to customised systems and combinations of complex products. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Vision
To make life easier for our clients, our clients' customers and our employees, thanks to our ability to be constantly innovative.
Mission
To design and manufacture advanced hydronic solutions that reduce installation complexity and energy consumption.
“Made in Italy” adds value
IVAR has been producing heating and plumbing system components since 1985: valves for heating bodies, direct heat metering modules, heat cost allocators, pipes and fittings, substations for heating systems, distribution manifolds, radiant panel systems, and components for solar and geothermal systems. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Over 200 people are employed at our manufacturing facilities in Prevalle (in northern Italy’s Brescia province). The site has been designed to streamline our many production and operational stages.
The Italian headquarters also acts as a hub for the wider IVAR Group, set up with the goal of distributing products beyond Italy’s borders. The group now has 11 branches, in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Tunisia.
Know How
Research, development and numerous laboratory tests guarantee that our clients’ requests can be translated into new high-efficiency products.
The stages required for production take place internally, beginning with hot forming, which is carried out at our subsidiary Valmon Stampati. Our continuous implementation of projects under the Industry 4.0 initiative also allows us to take full advantage of new releases in technology and IT to improve our manufacturing efficiency.
As a company, IVAR is constantly evolving. Every day, we invest in strengthening our products, in improving our production processes and in attaining new patents and certifications.
