IVAR.CS 553 VPD manifold set with dynamic valves for underfloor heating, 2 circuits, 1"×EK, cabinet P-KLASIK 1
Code: 553970DRelated products
Product detailed description
The IVAR.CS 553 VPD set (553970D) consists of a brass supply manifold and return manifold with 2 outlets each, factory-fitted with all regulating and shut-off fittings. It also includes a flush-mounted installation cabinet P-KLASIK 1 (installation depth 110–160 mm). The set distributes heating water to the loops of a wet underfloor heating system and is also suitable for connecting radiators, each with its own supply pipe.
Flow held by the dynamic valve
Each outlet of the return manifold has an IVAR.VTC 30 D dynamic balancing valve with a differential pressure regulator. A six-position selector sets the maximum flow of the circuit, which the valve maintains even when other loops open or close. As a result, output stays right at both full and partial load – an advantage especially in systems with low thermal inertia. The flow meters on the supply manifold (0–2.5 l/min) must therefore remain fully open and serve only to check the actual flow.
What the set includes
- supply manifold with 2 flow meters (shut-off and setting lock)
- return manifold with 2 dynamic valves and manual caps
- mounting brackets and 2 plugs
- 2 ball valves with union for connection to the system
- 2 intermediate fittings with thermometer, automatic air vent and rotating drain valve
- flush-mounted cabinet P-KLASIK 1
Connection and accessories
The set connects via a 1" female thread (DN 25, threads to ISO 228/1); the outlets are 3/4" Euroconus at 50 mm spacing and the centre distance between supply and return manifold is 200 mm. Operating limits are 10 bar and 90 °C. Compression fittings for the pipes are ordered separately according to material – IVAR.TA 4420 (ALPEX), IVAR.TP 4410 (PEX), IVAR.TR 4430 (copper). The return manifold valves have an M 30 × 1.5 connection for IVAR.TE 30xx or 40xx electrothermal actuators, through which room thermostats can switch the circuits (ON/OFF).
Before commissioning, the manufacturer recommends flushing the entire system, especially where underfloor heating is combined with radiators, and treating the water with GEL.LONG LIFE 100 or MAYLINE SBA. The version with surface-mounted cabinet N-KLASIK 1 has code 553970DN, the version without a cabinet 553970DBS.

Frequently asked questions
Why must the flow meters on the supply manifold be fully open?
On the IVAR.CS 553 VPD set, the circuit flow is defined by the dynamic valve on the return manifold, adjusted with a six-position selector. The flow meters therefore stay fully open and serve only as a visual check of the actual flow.
Can electrothermal actuators be fitted to the set?
Yes. The return manifold valves have an M 30 × 1.5 connection, and in place of the supplied manual caps you fit IVAR.TE 30xx or 40xx electrothermal actuators that open and close the circuits according to the room thermostat.
What is included and what needs to be bought separately?
The package contains the supply manifold with flow meters, the return manifold with 2 dynamic valves, brackets, 2 ball valves, 2 intermediate fittings with thermometer, air vent and drain valve, 2 plugs and the P-KLASIK 1 cabinet. Compression fittings for the pipes (IVAR.TA 4420, TP 4410 or TR 4430) and electrothermal actuators are ordered separately.
What installation depth does the flush-mounted P-KLASIK 1 cabinet need?
The installation depth of the P-KLASIK cabinet is adjustable from 110 to 160 mm. If the cabinet is not to be recessed into the wall, the version with surface-mounted cabinet N-KLASIK 1 is available under code 553970DN.

IVAR designs, develops and manufactures highly energy-efficient heating and plumbing systems. We have over 10,000 catalogue items - mass-produced products and unique items - in addition to customised systems and combinations of complex products. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Vision
To make life easier for our clients, our clients' customers and our employees, thanks to our ability to be constantly innovative.
Mission
To design and manufacture advanced hydronic solutions that reduce installation complexity and energy consumption.
“Made in Italy” adds value
IVAR has been producing heating and plumbing system components since 1985: valves for heating bodies, direct heat metering modules, heat cost allocators, pipes and fittings, substations for heating systems, distribution manifolds, radiant panel systems, and components for solar and geothermal systems. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Over 200 people are employed at our manufacturing facilities in Prevalle (in northern Italy’s Brescia province). The site has been designed to streamline our many production and operational stages.
The Italian headquarters also acts as a hub for the wider IVAR Group, set up with the goal of distributing products beyond Italy’s borders. The group now has 11 branches, in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Tunisia.
Know How
Research, development and numerous laboratory tests guarantee that our clients’ requests can be translated into new high-efficiency products.
The stages required for production take place internally, beginning with hot forming, which is carried out at our subsidiary Valmon Stampati. Our continuous implementation of projects under the Industry 4.0 initiative also allows us to take full advantage of new releases in technology and IT to improve our manufacturing efficiency.
As a company, IVAR is constantly evolving. Every day, we invest in strengthening our products, in improving our production processes and in attaining new patents and certifications.
