IVAR.CS 553 VPD underfloor heating manifold with dynamic valves – 8 circuits, 1" × EK, without cabinet
Code: 553976DBSRelated products
Product detailed description
Flow and return manifold for 8 circuits
The IVAR.CS 553 VPD set in the 8-port version distributes heating water to 8 loops of a wet underfloor heating system. It is just as suitable for radiator installations in which every radiator has its own supply pipe. The flow and return bars are made of CW617N brass, the system connection has a 1" female thread and each of the 8 outlets ends in a 3/4" EK cone at 50 mm centres.
Dynamic valves on the return
The return bar is fitted with IVAR.VTC 30 D dynamic balancing valves with an integrated differential pressure regulator. When electrothermal actuators close some circuits on demand from the room thermostats, the pressure in the manifold changes – the dynamic cartridge compensates for this and keeps the set flow rate in the remaining loops. The system therefore delivers the correct output at full and partial load, which is a particular advantage in systems with low thermal inertia. The maximum flow of each circuit is set with a six-position selector. Important: the flow meters on the flow bar must remain fully open and only display the flow (range 0–2.5 l/min).
What is included
- flow bar with 8 integrated regulating flow meters – regulation, shut-off and locking of the setting
- return bar with 8 dynamic balancing valves and manual caps, prepared for electrothermal actuators (M 30 × 1.5 connection)
- ball valves with union connections for the heating system
- intermediate pieces with thermometers, automatic air vents and fill/drain valves on both the flow and return bar
- mounting brackets
To be ordered separately
- installation cabinet – for 8 circuits use the flush-mounted IVAR.P-KLASIK 3 (depth 110–160 mm) or the surface-mounted IVAR.N-KLASIK 3 (depth 130 mm)
- 16 compression fittings (one per outlet on the flow and return bar) to suit the pipe: IVAR.TA 4420 for ALPEX, IVAR.TP 4410 for PEX, IVAR.TR 4430 for copper
- IVAR.TE 30xx or 40xx electrothermal actuators if the circuits are to be controlled by thermostats
Operation up to 10 bar and +90 °C, threads to ISO 228/1. Installation and commissioning should be carried out by a qualified installer; before the first start-up the entire heating system must be flushed (the manufacturer recommends treatment with GEL.LONG LIFE 100 or MAYLINE SBA).

Frequently asked questions
Is an installation cabinet included with 553976DBS?
No, the code ending in BS denotes the version without cabinet. For the 8-port version, the flush-mounted IVAR.P-KLASIK 3 or the surface-mounted IVAR.N-KLASIK 3 cabinet is intended.
Do I also need to adjust the flow meters after balancing?
No. The flow in each circuit is determined by the dynamic balancing valve on the return, so the flow meters must stay fully open and only show the actual flow.
How many compression fittings do I need to connect the pipes?
With 8 circuits you need 16 – one for each outlet on the flow and return bar. Choose the type according to the pipe: IVAR.TA 4420 for ALPEX, IVAR.TP 4410 for PEX or IVAR.TR 4430 for copper.
How much output can one circuit transfer?
It depends on the flow selector position and the temperature difference. According to the manufacturer, at ΔT 5 K it ranges from 0.44 kW (position 1) to 1.92 kW (position 6), and at ΔT 10 K from 0.87 kW to 3.87 kW.

IVAR designs, develops and manufactures highly energy-efficient heating and plumbing systems. We have over 10,000 catalogue items - mass-produced products and unique items - in addition to customised systems and combinations of complex products. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Vision
To make life easier for our clients, our clients' customers and our employees, thanks to our ability to be constantly innovative.
Mission
To design and manufacture advanced hydronic solutions that reduce installation complexity and energy consumption.
“Made in Italy” adds value
IVAR has been producing heating and plumbing system components since 1985: valves for heating bodies, direct heat metering modules, heat cost allocators, pipes and fittings, substations for heating systems, distribution manifolds, radiant panel systems, and components for solar and geothermal systems. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Over 200 people are employed at our manufacturing facilities in Prevalle (in northern Italy’s Brescia province). The site has been designed to streamline our many production and operational stages.
The Italian headquarters also acts as a hub for the wider IVAR Group, set up with the goal of distributing products beyond Italy’s borders. The group now has 11 branches, in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Tunisia.
Know How
Research, development and numerous laboratory tests guarantee that our clients’ requests can be translated into new high-efficiency products.
The stages required for production take place internally, beginning with hot forming, which is carried out at our subsidiary Valmon Stampati. Our continuous implementation of projects under the Industry 4.0 initiative also allows us to take full advantage of new releases in technology and IT to improve our manufacturing efficiency.
As a company, IVAR is constantly evolving. Every day, we invest in strengthening our products, in improving our production processes and in attaining new patents and certifications.
