Which boilers it fits

  • DC50,
  • DC50S with a production date up to 31 Dec 2009.

What comes with the nozzle

Besides the original nozzle, the package includes sealing cement and three sealing cords. They are used to seal the front and both sides.

Don't forget the block

Behind the nozzle in the DC50S boiler there is also an extension – a 200 × 200 mm ceramic block. It is not supplied with the nozzle and must be ordered separately: block DC0031 – nozzle extension.

Frequently asked questions

  • How do I choose the right output for a solid fuel boiler? Start from the calculated heat loss of the heated building, but with wood/coal boilers also consider that the boiler burns for several hours per load at essentially constant output - which is why it is common practice to add a heat accumulation tank to the boiler, which stores the excess heat for later use instead of the boiler having to be throttled down inefficiently.
  • What else do I need to install this boiler? Besides the boiler itself, the system generally requires: a buffer (accumulation) tank of suitable volume, a circulation pump (often already with a built-in Laddomat or a thermostatic valve protecting the boiler against low-temperature corrosion), a safety valve, an expansion vessel, and a flue/chimney with sufficient draught corresponding to the boiler output - the exact chimney draught values can be found in the technical parameters above.
  • Which fuel is suitable and which is not? Use only the fuel recommended by the manufacturer for the given model (usually log wood of defined length and moisture content, or brown coal briquettes or coal depending on the boiler type) - unsuitable or overly moist fuel reduces efficiency, increases the formation of tar and deposits, and can damage the boiler.
  • What about the chimney inspection and legislation? Before the boiler is put into operation, and also regularly during its use (usually once a year for solid fuels), an inspection/cleaning of the chimney by an authorised chimney sweep is required by law - without the relevant inspection report, an insurance claim in the event of a fire may be disputed.
  • How much maintenance does the boiler require? It usually includes regular removal of ash and cleaning of the heating surfaces/flue gas passages from soot (the interval depends on intensity of use, usually in the order of weeks), and a thorough annual inspection including the seals and the chimney.
  • Can I install the boiler myself? The placement and connection of the boiler to the heating system, the chimney and the safety components should be carried out, or at least professionally checked, by a heating technician - it is an appliance with an open fire, high temperatures and pressure components, where a connection error can pose a safety risk.

Company History

The family company ATMOS was founded in the Czech Republic in 1935. In the beginning, production was focused on gasifier power units for cars and boats under the brand name DOKOGEN, i.e. the same principle used in modern gasifier boilers for wood and coal.

Despite the German occupation and communist dictatorship, it was possible to maintain the development of wood boilers, gasifier units and compressors. In 1980, at the Pragotherm exhibition, the first wood gasifier boilers and wood waste boilers were presented. To date, 90 types of hot water boilers have been developed, for which the company holds 15 patents. One of the first developed boilers was the EKONOMIK boiler in 1968.

To ensure the European market with quality boilers that save the environment and energy, three generations of the Cankář family are currently working in the family business. The founder of the company, Jaroslav Cankář senior, passed away in March 2006 at the age of 94.

Company ATMOS – present

Atmos is a Czech family company and currently one of the largest European manufacturers of solid fuel boilers. The product range includes solid fuel boilers, gasification boilers for wood from 15 to 150 kW, gasification boilers for brown coal (and wood) from 16 to 48 kW, gasification boiler for brown coal briquettes and black coal with a power of 16 and 26 kW, automatic pellet boilers from 4.5 to 80 kW and combined boilers for gasification of wood in combination with a pellet burner in power from 20 to 35 kW. Products of the company Atmos have aroused great interest among users heating with wood and installers, due to their good functionality, quality and, last but not least, very favorable price.
