OPTIMA IVAR.DV 023 straight mixing valve for bathrooms – 1/2" × M24, chrome
Code: 530009CHROMProduct detailed description
Return throttling for radiator bodies
IVAR.DV 023 belongs to the OPTIMA range of bathroom fittings, which combine functionality with an attractive appearance. The direct throttling is threaded onto the body with an external thread of 1/2" and connected to the distribution via a M 24 × 1.5 threaded throttling for copper or plastic pipe. As a pair to it serves the thermostatic valve OPTIMA IVAR.DV 013 in the same finish.
Functions
- regulation of water flow through the body or its complete closure
- shutting off the body without draining the entire system
- calibrated orifice with six positions (Kv 0.1 to 0.6), adjustable with a 13 mm key
- contains a thermostatic insert, so variable connection of supply and return is possible
- protective cap protects the thread during installation and also serves to close it
Material and installation
The body is made of brass CW617N with a chromium surface finish, seals from peroxide-vulcanized EPDM and head from plastic ABS; the fitting includes the adapter IVAR.AVK 01. The throttling withstands PN 10, a differential pressure of 1 bar and a temperature of +100 °C. Seal the threads with Teflon tape, thread, paste or gel, not hemp. Before starting, it is necessary to flush the entire heating system.

Frequently asked questions
What is the OPTIMA IVAR.DV 023 throttling used for?
It is mounted on a bathroom heating body, limits or completely closes the flow and allows the body to be shut off without draining the system. As a counterpart, the thermostatic valve OPTIMA IVAR.DV 013 is used.
How is the flow adjusted?
With a 13 mm key, turn the cone until the mark indicates the desired position 1 to 6 according to the design. Position 1 means the smallest and position 6 the largest flow; intermediate positions cannot be adjusted.
What should I use to seal the threads?
The manufacturer recommends Teflon tapes, cords or threads, or sealing pastes and gels. Hemp is not recommended, as excessive winding may cause the brass body to tear.

IVAR designs, develops and manufactures highly energy-efficient heating and plumbing systems. We have over 10,000 catalogue items - mass-produced products and unique items - in addition to customised systems and combinations of complex products. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Vision
To make life easier for our clients, our clients' customers and our employees, thanks to our ability to be constantly innovative.
Mission
To design and manufacture advanced hydronic solutions that reduce installation complexity and energy consumption.
“Made in Italy” adds value
IVAR has been producing heating and plumbing system components since 1985: valves for heating bodies, direct heat metering modules, heat cost allocators, pipes and fittings, substations for heating systems, distribution manifolds, radiant panel systems, and components for solar and geothermal systems. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Over 200 people are employed at our manufacturing facilities in Prevalle (in northern Italy’s Brescia province). The site has been designed to streamline our many production and operational stages.
The Italian headquarters also acts as a hub for the wider IVAR Group, set up with the goal of distributing products beyond Italy’s borders. The group now has 11 branches, in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Tunisia.
Know How
Research, development and numerous laboratory tests guarantee that our clients’ requests can be translated into new high-efficiency products.
The stages required for production take place internally, beginning with hot forming, which is carried out at our subsidiary Valmon Stampati. Our continuous implementation of projects under the Industry 4.0 initiative also allows us to take full advantage of new releases in technology and IT to improve our manufacturing efficiency.
As a company, IVAR is constantly evolving. Every day, we invest in strengthening our products, in improving our production processes and in attaining new patents and certifications.
