The PNI CT28 Pro 8 is a ready-made kit that lets you split underfloor heating into eight separately controlled rooms. The box contains eight CT28 PRO wireless thermostats, a CT28M control module with eight zones and a CT28WIFI Wi-Fi gateway, so you do not have to put the individual components together separately.

The thermostats measure the room temperature and send commands by radio (868 MHz) to the module, which opens and closes the valves or thermal actuators of the relevant circuits. The gateway connects the system to your home Wi-Fi network, so you can see and change temperatures from your phone in the Tuya Smart app as well.

Each thermostat has a daily programme with four time slots, a weekly programme, frost protection, open window detection and a key lock. It is powered by two AAA alkaline batteries, so you can place it on a table or fix it to a wall without running a cable.

What the kit consists of

• 8 × PNI CT28 PRO wireless thermostat (white, ABS);
• 1 × PNI CT28M control module for 8 zones (230 V AC, 350 × 55 × 115 mm);
• 1 × PNI CT28WIFI Wi-Fi gateway (Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz, 868 MHz radio).

Installation

The module is mounted at the underfloor heating manifold and connected to 230 V, so it should be wired by a qualified electrician. The thermostats are then paired with it by zone: you select a zone on the module, start pairing on both the thermostat and the module, and the zone indicator light confirms the connection.

Can the kit be expanded?
The kit covers eight zones, which is the capacity of one module. Further circuits would require another module.

Does it work without the internet?
Yes, the thermostats and the module work together by radio even without Wi-Fi. The gateway only adds control from the app.
