The PNI GV10 is a solenoid valve for gas pipes, with a 1 inch internal thread on both inlet and outlet. It acts as the actuating element of a gas detector: when the detector in the room registers a leak at alarm level, it sounds a beep and the valve shuts off the gas supply.
The valve closes on a short 9–12 V DC pulse, and closing takes 1 second at most. Once the cause of the leak has been removed, it is reopened by hand: after taking off the protective cover, simply lift the red button.
The body is made of aluminium alloy and the NBR rubber seals resist moisture. The valve is small (77 × 45 × 115 mm) and light, weighing 0.3 kg.
Installation and compatibility
The valve is installed on the gas pipe in an accessible, ventilated place. The operating temperature is −10 to +50 °C. Before buying, check that the diameter of your connection matches a 1 inch thread and that the control output of your detector delivers a 9–12 V pulse.
Work on the gas line and its commissioning must be carried out by a qualified person authorised to work on gas installations. The valve does not replace the inspection of the gas appliance.
