PNI SafeHouse HS282 CO detector with display and alarm
Code: PNI-HS282Product detailed description
PNI SafeHouse HS282 is a carbon monoxide (CO) detector that protects people from the dangerous, colorless and odorless gas. Carbon monoxide cannot be detected by sight or smell, so a device is needed to monitor its presence for you. You can use it wherever fuel is burned and gas leakage is possible – near boilers, stoves, cookers or other combustion appliances – that is, at home, in the office, in commercial premises or in any other enclosed room. It continuously monitors the CO content in the air and triggers an alarm at dangerous levels so that quick action can be taken.
Main Features
- electrochemical carbon monoxide sensor
- digital display showing CO concentration in real time
- audible alarm with a minimum volume of 85 dB, complemented by a light indication
- LED indication for alarm and low battery
- TEST/MUTE button to check functionality and temporarily mute the alarm
- powered by two AA batteries (DC 3 V)
- low energy consumption, which extends battery life
- white finish, dimensions 115 x 115 x 29 mm
Operation and Indication
Shortly after turning on, the detector calibrates. Then, in normal mode, the LED blinks regularly, indicating that the device is functioning properly. When a dangerous CO concentration is detected, a loud alarm sounds and a light warning is activated at the same time. This means the room must be ventilated immediately and the area left. You can test the device using the TEST/MUTE button and temporarily mute the alarm sound for a short time.
Different light and sound patterns inform you of internal faults, low batteries or the end of the sensor's life.
Alarm Trigger Conditions
The alarm depends on the CO concentration and the time during which it affects the sensor:
- 30 ppm – after 30 minutes
- 60 ppm – after 50 minutes
- 100 ppm – after 10 minutes
- 300 ppm – immediately

Installation and Maintenance
Mount the detector on the wall. It works best near combustion sources or in places where air naturally circulates; avoid rooms with high levels of steam, smoke or dust. In large or multi-story homes, it is recommended to install multiple detectors to ensure full protection. Maintenance includes regular function testing, careful wiping of the surface and battery replacement as needed. The product complies with European safety and electromagnetic compatibility standards.
Frequently Asked Questions
What should I do if the detector triggers an alarm?
Immediately ventilate the room and leave the area. The sound of the alarm can be temporarily muted using the TEST/MUTE button, but this does not eliminate the danger.
How do I know the detector is working properly?
The LED blinks regularly in normal mode. You can also verify the function using the TEST/MUTE button.
Where should I install the detector?
Best on the wall near combustion sources or in places where air circulates naturally, not in rooms with high levels of steam, smoke or dust.
