The PNI SWI280 is a garden irrigation control unit with up to eight separate zones. It connects to your home network via 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and is controlled in the Tuya Smart app, where you add the device and set hourly and daily programmes for each zone separately. Direct manual control with the buttons on the unit makes things even simpler.
For more efficient watering, the Cycle and Soak functions are available. Cycle divides the total watering time into shorter stages and Soak inserts pauses between them so that the water has time to soak into the soil. The Smart Weather function detects a rainy day and automatically pauses watering, saving you water.
The unit is powered from 230 V AC and supplies 24 V AC at up to 2000 mA at its output, which switches the solenoid valves in the garden. It is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Home, so it can be integrated into a smart home and controlled by voice.
Installation and wiring
The controller is intended for connecting 24 V AC solenoid valves, with one zone corresponding to one valve. Leave the wiring of the valves and the power supply to a person with electrical qualifications. The dimensions of the unit are 190 × 30 × 130 mm.
