PRESS Fitting Stainless Steel AISI 304 – 18 mm – IVAR.IVN410
Code: IVN410.18Product detailed description
IVAR.IVN410 – 18 mm (code IVN410.18) is a non-reducing elbow with two press-fit collars (PRESS × PRESS), which you can use to connect two sections of stainless steel pipe with the same diameter of 18 mm. The connection is created by mechanically pressing the fitting into the pipe.
For which types of systems is it suitable
- closed heating and cooling systems, solar systems
- compressed air and vacuum systems
- inert and technical gases, technical and operational liquids
- industrial applications, waste and rainwater
Warning: not suitable for potable water. The AISI 304 logo indicating unsuitability for potable water, the dimensions and the traceability code are marked on the body of the fitting.
Technical data
- material: stainless steel AISI 304 (W.Nr. 1.4301), sealing O-ring from EPDM with LBP profile
- maximum operating pressure PN 16, vacuum down to -0.8 bar (absolute pressure 0.2 bar)
- operating temperature -20 °C to +85 °C, maximum +120 °C
- antifreeze mixture in the system up to 50 %
- length L 53 mm and dimension Z 11 mm according to technical drawing
Installation
Cut the pipe perpendicularly to the axis using a pipe cutter or fine-toothed saw and thoroughly clean it inside and outside. Mark the insertion depth on the pipe with a marker, check the position of the O-ring and slide the fitting onto the pipe along the axis with a slight rotation until it stops – you may use water to assist, but do not use oil or grease. For a 18 mm diameter, use single-piece pressing pliers with contour M. Press only once, repeated pressing may damage the seal.
Double confirmation makes inspection easier: the orange color stripe on the collar will tear during pressing and the LBP (Leak Before Press) O-ring with a broken profile ensures that an unpressed joint will not leak during pressure testing.
Before starting, flush the entire system according to the manufacturer's instructions; for the treatment of the IVAR heating system, we recommend the preparation GEL.LONG LIFE 100. During installation, follow the IVAR.PRESS system installation and use instructions.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use the IVAR.IVN410 elbow for potable water distribution?
No. The stainless steel AISI 304 fitting is not intended for potable water and this is also indicated by a symbol on its body. It can be used, for example, in closed heating and cooling circuits, solar systems or compressed air distribution systems.
Which pressing pliers do I need for a 18 mm size?
The pliers must have contour M. For a 18 mm diameter, single-piece pliers matching the fitting size are sufficient.
How can I find out if I forgot to press a joint?
The orange stripe on the collar will tear during pressing, so an intact stripe indicates an unpressed joint. In addition, the LBP O-ring with a broken profile ensures that an unpressed joint will not leak during pressure testing.
Can an antifreeze mixture be in the circuit?
Yes, the concentration of antifreeze may be up to 50 %. The operating temperature is -20 °C to +85 °C, maximum +120 °C, at a pressure up to PN 16.

IVAR designs, develops and manufactures highly energy-efficient heating and plumbing systems. We have over 10,000 catalogue items - mass-produced products and unique items - in addition to customised systems and combinations of complex products. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Vision
To make life easier for our clients, our clients' customers and our employees, thanks to our ability to be constantly innovative.
Mission
To design and manufacture advanced hydronic solutions that reduce installation complexity and energy consumption.
“Made in Italy” adds value
IVAR has been producing heating and plumbing system components since 1985: valves for heating bodies, direct heat metering modules, heat cost allocators, pipes and fittings, substations for heating systems, distribution manifolds, radiant panel systems, and components for solar and geothermal systems. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Over 200 people are employed at our manufacturing facilities in Prevalle (in northern Italy’s Brescia province). The site has been designed to streamline our many production and operational stages.
The Italian headquarters also acts as a hub for the wider IVAR Group, set up with the goal of distributing products beyond Italy’s borders. The group now has 11 branches, in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Tunisia.
Know How
Research, development and numerous laboratory tests guarantee that our clients’ requests can be translated into new high-efficiency products.
The stages required for production take place internally, beginning with hot forming, which is carried out at our subsidiary Valmon Stampati. Our continuous implementation of projects under the Industry 4.0 initiative also allows us to take full advantage of new releases in technology and IT to improve our manufacturing efficiency.
As a company, IVAR is constantly evolving. Every day, we invest in strengthening our products, in improving our production processes and in attaining new patents and certifications.
