PRESS IVAR.IVN481 transition with external thread – stainless steel AISI 304, 35 mm – R6/4"
Code: IVN481.3516Product detailed description
IVAR.IVN481 35 mm – R6/4" (code IVN481.3516) is a stainless steel AISI 304 (1.4301) transition piece with two different ends: a pressing collar for a pipe with an outer diameter of 35 mm and an external thread R6/4". You can use it wherever a pressed stainless steel pipe continues into a heating fitting or pipe fitting with an internal thread. The pressing collar corresponds to the pipe diameter, so the transition piece does not reduce the pipe dimension.
For which systems
- closed heating and cooling circuits, solar systems
- compressed air and vacuum systems
- inert and technical gases, technical and operational liquids
- industrial applications, waste and rainwater
The transition piece is not suitable for potable water. You will find the AISI 304 logo, dimensions, traceability code and a symbol on the body indicating that it is not suitable for potable water.
Pressing collar 35 mm
Press the 35 mm diameter using medium-force tools (up to 40 kN) and single-jaw tools with an M profile. V-profile jaws are prohibited for all diameters. An unpressed joint is indicated by an orange stripe on the collar and an LBP (Leak Before Press) sealing O-ring with a broken profile, through which liquid leaks during pressure testing until the joint is properly pressed.
Threaded side R6/4"
Seal the thread only with material free of chlorides – a chloride-free Teflon tape, hemp with a chloride-free sealing compound or a chloride-free sealing tape, as chlorides may cause local corrosion of stainless steel. Stainless steel is compatible with brass, bronze or copper fittings; if it is to be in direct contact with carbon steel, the manufacturer recommends inserting a colored metal spacer at least 50 mm long between them.
Technical data
- maximum operating pressure PN 16, vacuum up to -0.8 bar (absolute pressure 0.2 bar)
- antifreeze mixture with a concentration of up to 50 %
Follow the installation and use instructions for the IVAR pressing system during assembly. Before starting the entire heating system, flush it – IVAR recommends using the preparation GEL.LONG LIFE 100 for its treatment.

Frequently asked questions
Is the IVAR.IVN481 transition piece suitable for potable water distribution?
No. Stainless steel AISI 304 fittings of this series are not intended for potable water, as indicated by the symbol on their body. They are suitable for closed heating and cooling circuits, solar systems or compressed air and technical gas distribution systems.
Which pressing tool do I need for the 35 mm collar?
A tool with medium force up to 40 kN and single-jaw tools with an M profile. V-profile jaws must not be used.
How to seal the external thread R6/4"?
Use only sealing materials free of chlorides – Teflon tape, hemp with compound or sealing tape in a chloride-free version. Chlorides from the sealing material may locally damage the stainless steel.
How to find out that the joint is not yet pressed?
There is an orange indicator stripe on the collar and the LBP O-ring with a broken profile causes the unpressed joint to leak during pressure testing. You can detect a faulty joint before putting the system into operation.

IVAR designs, develops and manufactures highly energy-efficient heating and plumbing systems. We have over 10,000 catalogue items - mass-produced products and unique items - in addition to customised systems and combinations of complex products. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Vision
To make life easier for our clients, our clients' customers and our employees, thanks to our ability to be constantly innovative.
Mission
To design and manufacture advanced hydronic solutions that reduce installation complexity and energy consumption.
“Made in Italy” adds value
IVAR has been producing heating and plumbing system components since 1985: valves for heating bodies, direct heat metering modules, heat cost allocators, pipes and fittings, substations for heating systems, distribution manifolds, radiant panel systems, and components for solar and geothermal systems. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Over 200 people are employed at our manufacturing facilities in Prevalle (in northern Italy’s Brescia province). The site has been designed to streamline our many production and operational stages.
The Italian headquarters also acts as a hub for the wider IVAR Group, set up with the goal of distributing products beyond Italy’s borders. The group now has 11 branches, in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Tunisia.
Know How
Research, development and numerous laboratory tests guarantee that our clients’ requests can be translated into new high-efficiency products.
The stages required for production take place internally, beginning with hot forming, which is carried out at our subsidiary Valmon Stampati. Our continuous implementation of projects under the Industry 4.0 initiative also allows us to take full advantage of new releases in technology and IT to improve our manufacturing efficiency.
As a company, IVAR is constantly evolving. Every day, we invest in strengthening our products, in improving our production processes and in attaining new patents and certifications.
