PRESS-PPSU 16x16 IVAR.V PPSU Insert - Direct Press Fit Coupling for ALPEX Pipes
Code: 82816100Product detailed description
Adapter for pipes of the same diameter
The IVAR.V PPSU 16x16 insert is part of the IVAR.PRESS crimping system. It is used to extend or repair the routing of multilayer pipes ALPEX and TURATEC, or PEX pipes with dimensions 16 x 2.0 mm. It is suitable for distribution to heating units, in hydronic floor heating and in sanitary systems; it has a hygiene certificate for contact with drinking water.
Material and dimensions
- body made of polyphenylsulfone (PPSU), resistant to corrosion and scale formation
- crimping sleeve made of stainless steel AISI 304, O-rings made of EPDM
- locking ring made of polycarbonate with sight holes for checking the insertion of the pipe
- construction length L1 56 mm, Z1 5 mm, weight 23 g
Crimping and installation
The connection is crimped radially using the appropriate diameter jaws (contour B/F/TH), using only approved crimping equipment according to the IVAR instructions for connecting pipes with IVAR.PRESS fittings. The pipe must be cut perpendicularly, calibrated and deburred; you can facilitate insertion by using water, but do not use oil or other lubricants. The connection is created without an open flame and can be loaded with pressure immediately after crimping and may be embedded in the floor, in a shaft or behind plaster. If the insert is forgotten to be crimped, it will leak during a pressure test in the range of 1 to 6.5 bar, so the error will be detected before the system is covered.

Frequently asked questions
Which pipes can the 16x16 insert connect?
Two pipes with an outer diameter of 16 mm – multilayer ALPEX and TURATEC or PEX with dimensions 16 x 2.0 mm. According to the IVAR instructions, the system must not be combined with pipes and fittings from other manufacturers.
Which jaws are used to crimp the insert?
For this size, IVAR approves jaws with contour B/F/TH. Crimping must be done with equipment from the compatibility list in the IVAR.PRESS instructions, for example REMS IVAR.MINI-PRESS or NOVOPRESS IVAR.ACO.
Can the connection remain embedded in the wall or floor?
Yes, IVAR.PRESS crimped connections may be inaccessible in the floor, shaft or behind plaster. The system must be protected from UV radiation and weather influences.
Can the insert be used again after crimping?
No. According to the IVAR instructions, a fitting that has already been crimped once must not be used again.

IVAR designs, develops and manufactures highly energy-efficient heating and plumbing systems. We have over 10,000 catalogue items - mass-produced products and unique items - in addition to customised systems and combinations of complex products. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Vision
To make life easier for our clients, our clients' customers and our employees, thanks to our ability to be constantly innovative.
Mission
To design and manufacture advanced hydronic solutions that reduce installation complexity and energy consumption.
“Made in Italy” adds value
IVAR has been producing heating and plumbing system components since 1985: valves for heating bodies, direct heat metering modules, heat cost allocators, pipes and fittings, substations for heating systems, distribution manifolds, radiant panel systems, and components for solar and geothermal systems. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Over 200 people are employed at our manufacturing facilities in Prevalle (in northern Italy’s Brescia province). The site has been designed to streamline our many production and operational stages.
The Italian headquarters also acts as a hub for the wider IVAR Group, set up with the goal of distributing products beyond Italy’s borders. The group now has 11 branches, in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Tunisia.
Know How
Research, development and numerous laboratory tests guarantee that our clients’ requests can be translated into new high-efficiency products.
The stages required for production take place internally, beginning with hot forming, which is carried out at our subsidiary Valmon Stampati. Our continuous implementation of projects under the Industry 4.0 initiative also allows us to take full advantage of new releases in technology and IT to improve our manufacturing efficiency.
As a company, IVAR is constantly evolving. Every day, we invest in strengthening our products, in improving our production processes and in attaining new patents and certifications.
