Detailed information

Product detailed description

Tee 90° IVAR.IVN441 88,9-54-88,9 mm is a reduced pressed stainless steel elbow made of AISI 304 (material no. 1.4301). The running bores are 88.9 mm, the branch is 54 mm – this fitting allows you to connect a smaller branch to the main pipe without further reduction. All three ends are pressed (press × press × press) and sealed with EPDM O-rings. The overall length of the fitting is 262 mm.

Where the Tee is used

  • closed heating and cooling systems, solar circuits
  • compressed air distribution, vacuum systems, inert and technical gases
  • technical and operational liquids in industry
  • drainage of waste and rainwater

The fitting is not suitable for potable water – this is also indicated by a symbol printed together with the logo, AISI 304 material, dimensions and traceability code directly on the fitting.

Operating values

  • maximum operating pressure PN 16, vacuum down to -0.8 bar (absolute pressure 0.2 bar)
  • temperature from -20 °C, in normal operation up to +85 °C, maximum +120 °C
  • antifreeze mixture with a maximum concentration of 50 %

Pressing and joint inspection

The 54 mm branch has a patented LBP (Leak Before Press) O-ring with a broken profile – an unpressed joint will leak during pressure testing – and an orange stripe as an indicator of pressing. The manufacturer includes these features only for sizes from 15 to 54 mm; the running bores of 88.9 mm do not have them, so their pressing must be checked especially carefully.

Pressing is done using jaws with contour M. Warning: installation must be carried out by a qualified person in accordance with the installation and use instructions issued by the system manufacturer. Before commissioning the heating system, the manufacturer strongly recommends flushing the entire system; for water treatment, the preparation GEL.LONG LIFE 100 is recommended.

In the IVAR.IVN441 range you will also find other dimension combinations from 18-15-18 mm up to 108-88.9-108 mm.

Frequently asked questions

Is the IVAR.IVN441 88,9-54-88,9 mm tee suitable for potable water?
No, the stainless steel fittings of this range made of AISI 304 are not suitable for potable water and also bear a symbol indicating this. They are used, for example, in closed heating and cooling circuits, solar systems, or for compressed air.

Which pipes are connected to this tee?
Pipes of 88.9 mm diameter are pressed into the two running bores, and a pipe of 54 mm diameter is connected to the branch. All three ends are pressed (press × press × press).

What tool is used to press the tee?
Pressing tools with jaws of contour M. The joints must be made by a qualified person in accordance with the installation and use instructions from the system manufacturer.

How can I tell if a joint remains unpressed?
The 54 mm branch has an LBP O-ring, which reveals an unpressed joint by leakage during pressure testing, and an orange indicator stripe. The running bores of 88.9 mm do not have these features, so their pressing must be checked especially carefully.

IVAR designs, develops and manufactures highly energy-efficient heating and plumbing systems. We have over 10,000 catalogue items - mass-produced products and unique items - in addition to customised systems and combinations of complex products. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.

Vision
To make life easier for our clients, our clients' customers and our employees, thanks to our ability to be constantly innovative.

Mission
To design and manufacture advanced hydronic solutions that reduce installation complexity and energy consumption.

“Made in Italy” adds value

IVAR has been producing heating and plumbing system components since 1985: valves for heating bodies, direct heat metering modules, heat cost allocators, pipes and fittings, substations for heating systems, distribution manifolds, radiant panel systems, and components for solar and geothermal systems. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Over 200 people are employed at our manufacturing facilities in Prevalle (in northern Italy’s Brescia province). The site has been designed to streamline our many production and operational stages.

The Italian headquarters also acts as a hub for the wider IVAR Group, set up with the goal of distributing products beyond Italy’s borders. The group now has 11 branches, in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Tunisia.

Know How
Research, development and numerous laboratory tests guarantee that our clients’ requests can be translated into new high-efficiency products.

The stages required for production take place internally, beginning with hot forming, which is carried out at our subsidiary Valmon Stampati. Our continuous implementation of projects under the Industry 4.0 initiative also allows us to take full advantage of new releases in technology and IT to improve our manufacturing efficiency.

As a company, IVAR is constantly evolving. Every day, we invest in strengthening our products, in improving our production processes and in attaining new patents and certifications.
